What an incredible experience while waiting for the ferry to Kalymnos! I must admit, I'm not a huge fan of highly touristy places with waiters vying for customers on the street. However, this gem pleasantly surprised me. It was mid-afternoon, and the atmosphere at this establishment was refreshingly different - no aggressive pushing of products or services.
The staff here displayed a level of hospitality that made us feel genuinely welcome. We had a wait of 3 hours for our ferry, and they graciously allowed us to hang out without feeling pressured to order more food or drinks. This considerate approach is rare and highly appreciated!
Now, let's talk about the food. It was nothing short of delightful! We ordered the Greek salad and the Moussaka and some cheese balls, and they exceeded our expectations. The flavors were exquisite, and the presentation was top-notch. If you visit, make sure to try the grilled feta!
Overall, I can't recommend this place enough. A peaceful ambiance, friendly staff, and mouthwatering food made our wait for the ferry an enjoyable experience. If you find yourself in the area, don't miss out. Your taste buds...
Read moreI visited Periklis meze restaurant for the first time in August 2024 and from the very first moment I arrived I felt the warm hospitality of the staff. At a first glance the restaurant looks very beautiful, with many traditional decorations. The food is simply outstanding. The fresh seafood, traditional meze, and local flavors stand out in both quality and taste. The calamari was some of the most tender I’ve ever had, while the Greek salad with feta and juicy tomatoes was a delight. Don’t miss the grilled octopus—it was perfectly cooked! The restaurant is generally well known for its fried food.Indeed, we tried the baby calamari dish and it was amazing. The restaurant’s atmosphere is idyllic, with a stunning sea view, making it perfect for a relaxing meal or a romantic dinner. Its location near the port adds to the experience, especially if you enjoy watching the sunset with a glass of ouzo. The prices are absolutely reasonable for the quality and generous portions. Overall, Periklis Meze Restaurant is a place worth visiting again and again. If you’re in Kos,...
Read moreMe and my boyfriend visited the place in June 2019. The place itself looks very cute and local, but oh my i do hope they changed the staff here because the service and food was not good. First of all we ordered seabass and our waiter presented seabream to the table hopping that we won't notice. As i eat seabass quite often i did notice, and when i asked him is this seabass he tried to lie. At the end he offered to change it but i was too hungry. Another thing- instead of tirokafteri (cheese dip) he ordered us a taramasalata ( fish roe dip) which i like as well so it was not a problem. As a started we had baby calamari which was so greasy. We ordered king prawns (which was too expencive for two prawns) , but tasted literally like plastic, so disgusting, not even talking about side vegetables. Overall i had food worse than this, but service spoiled it even more . Oh and by the way you will be charged for the bread which you don't even order ( but as the waiter explained a bread/table charge) . Biggest disappointment...
