We fitted our visit to Fantasia with the obvious trip to Zia beforehand. What I expected was a very rustic Greek experience. What we got was a commercial watered-down version, to be honest. Not something I would have booked had I known. Before I go into detail. We, a family of six, had a good time and enjoyed ourselves, but a review is a review. I am a veggy, so was on the back foot to start with. The mezze plates keep on coming and were ok, but we have had much better even in small back street eateries in local Kos town. There are no veggy replacements for the meat dishes that came, pork kebabs and meat stuffed cabbage leaves 😪. For the main, the meat eaters had marinated pork, roast potatoes and rice, all said it was good, salty I am told. My main was stuffed vegetables (something I even get offered at home in Englad) with rice. Sadly so salty I could just manage the stuffed pepper. Dessert was a plate of melon. Food over all was not great which is not what we have experienced in other places on our holiday. The entertainment is good, especially the dancers. We all got up and joined the others and had a good giggle at my dad dancing. You get bottomless wine on the tables, which to be honest for me and the other drinkers on the table (and the majority of the other tables) was to vinegary and undrinkable, so a visit to the bar , which is expensive, really expensive in fact. 2 small bottles of Mythos and a gin and tonic was €20! There are group pictures that are an add-on as well. €10 for an out of focus group picture is steep.
We did have a nice evening, I just feel the commercial aspect has overtaken the special essence of Fantasia. We had more fun with the cats and kittens too. Go and enjoy it, though, if you are reading my review, please. Maybe I didn't factor in modern...
Read moreWe went inside to ask about a place downstairs, to which we were told it’s full. Fine. There were some empty tables upstairs though; to which I pointed with and asked if it is was free, the waiter nodded firmly. We sat down, enjoyed the awesome music and the show coming from below and patiently waited for the waiter to take our order. We sat for quite some time. Another waiter (small kid) came over to clean up the table from previous people. Cool. Suddenly, the initial waiter came, looking all furious and aggressively pulled the table cloth of the table and took the remaining stuff of the table and shouted ‘I told you full’. We immediately got off the table to leave this place. On our way out this waiter was even more furious, shouting and mimicking my father in a very rude way and telling that ‘we are disrespectful’. Honestly, we had no idea what has happened. I’ve been to many places and travelled around the world and never seen anything like...
Read moreRegrettably, I cannot recommend this establishment. We decided to take an excursion with TUI for the Greek night. The cutlery, plates and glasses were dirty with previous nights of lipstick on wine glass and stained plates. In my view an Health and Safety risk issue when you considering COVID. We did try to address the issue with the TUI guide but he told us we need to refer the matter to the restaurant manager as he could not intervene in matters of Health and Safety. We being vegetarian was a problem to the restaurant irrespective of us informing TUI in-advance on our preferences. Moving on to the food if you are okay with mass catering then you will be okay, but first make sure your cutlery etc is to your standards. On the positive side the music and dancing...
