Old Story - Old Time — Restaurant in Municipality of Meyisti

We stayed for 4 days on the island and had our last dinner here. Our only regret is that we didn’t come here on the first day- than we would have had all our meals here (all the other places offered great food but this was something else for us). They gave us a handwritten menu and the owner personally explained everything. The best moussaka we’ve ever had, just perfection. Same goes for dolmades, saganaki and zucchini patties. I had a lovely lunch here while visiting the island. A Greek salad of course, but they had other lovely local cuisine options on the menu too. The owner/worker was very friendly and operating as a one man show seemingly doing all of the table waiting and also kitchen work. The location and atmosphere are great and it looked very authentic and ‘part of the furniture’ of the island. In the Greek restaurants scene is it s rare to find a place that is honest to tradition. Old story is one of these outstanding places. The owner is extremely friendly, he went over the menu, told us which dishes are available today, and explained how they are made. The food was exquisite. It is mostly cooked dishes.
