The restaurant is situated on the beautiful Evita Bay beach. Natural cove that offers wonderful swimming. Recommended to arrive early for the best selection of beds (6€ for two beds and umbrella). Sundays on the beach are especially busy, so either avoid (if you you don't like loads of people /families) or arrive early. The beach staff are wonderfully helpful and friendly. Karavostasi taverna is second to none, offering beautiful secluded dining, service is friendly and prompt, the food, especially traditional dishes are excellent. If you're expecting pizzas or burgers, the same way that are back home, then stay at home. You come to Crete to experience the cuisine and the culture (although pizza and pasta are very good). It all goes down very well with the local raki ;) Prices force two (shared salad, two mains and drinks) app 25-30 €. You can easily while away for three hours over lunch before returning to your beds on the beach. It was our first time in this area of the island and we go home with the desire to return again as...
Read moreA beautiful bay and clear waters, but sadly giving one star review due to the racism I witnessed from the guy in charge of the umbrellas and sun beds that is attached to this taverna.

He then proceeded to scrub and clean the sun-bed that the child had sat on. He did not clean any other sun-bed on the beach.
He was offensive and rude and I firmly believe by the way that he behaved that this was racism. Not acceptable in 2024.
Even on the way out he shoulder barged my partner as he knew we had been supporting the lady with the children that he was awful to....
Read moreI had the pleasure of trying this place, which offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with traditional decor and specific music that perfectly complements the ambiance. The menu is varied, with classic Greek dishes such as moussaka, tzatziki, souvlaki and fresh fish, all prepared with authentic ingredients to choose from
We tried several dishes and all were delicious with balanced flavors and generous portions. The feta cheese and olive oil added an authentic taste to each dish. The service was impeccable, the staff very kind and attentive, ready to offer recommendations. The value for money is good considering the quality of the ingredients and the relaxing atmosphere. In conclusion, it is the ideal place for an evening with friends or a...
