The staff were absolutely a joy. The owner is so friendly each member of staff engaged with our large crowd. One member of staff even spoke w little bit of Irish
Lots of travels for 1-2 people, suits groups of 4-6 or if you get there before 5.30 they will accommodate groups of 10-12). Overlooking a small bay with a mountain view. Picturesque!
Some of our group were here twice as it was so amazing! If you visit Bali, Crete put this on your list.
One small critique (which ended up causing arguments in our large group) was that: the prices we were charged for dishes were not the prices on the menu. We were also told that some items (Bread/Tablewater/Birthday Cake/End Desert) were free of charge but they were added to the menu. It is common in crete to be charged for the water / starting bread but uncommon for the price change. Be careful you aren't...
Read moreI wish I would have good things to say but frankly I was very disappointed. The risotto at seafront that I ordered ( as an Italian.) Was one of the most disgusting things I ever ate. I give 2 stars because the waiter seemed genuine pissed off when I left half dish , he called some old man ( probably the chef ) , which came and asked for explanation. I tried to be polite and he kept asking what was wrong with the food. I was hoping they would give a discount or at least apologizing for the inconvenience ( I should have told him " try to eat this and tell me that this is it at least decent". He said " ok " then they left bring some " not so fresh food" then they gave us the bill which was containing the full price. I am wondering myself what was even the point to send the chef asking me questions if you didn't even apologize or give discount? I felt embarrassed to be honest. The other chicken dish we took was OK. But nothing special. Wont...
Read moreA rather old-fashioned tourist restaurant, stuck somewhere in the 90s. The menu tries to cover everything – seafood, meat dishes, even pizzas – but nothing really stands out.
The cooking is on the heavy side, lots of fried smells and an almost comical amount of mayonnaise on every salad.
The staff are quick, I’ll give them that, but in such a rush that the service feels clumsy. Not rude, just… careless. At one point it felt as if a plate might end up on our heads.
The atmosphere doesn’t help either: tables packed tightly together and lighting so harsh you’d think you were in an operating theatre. Odd, really, as the place was full, so clearly there’s money coming in for a refurb.
I’m not sure what the alternatives in the area are, but this one certainly wasn’t a good...
