After arriving on a bumpy flight into Milos from Athens, we made straight for Volta situated on the gorgeous port in Adamantas. We knew we’d made the right decision by the warm welcome and we already felt comfortable being greeted by the smiles of the waitress and the whole team. We started with Greek craft beers including some from the owners hometown of Larissa. I loved the Lola! IPA with just the right amount of spice. Then to the delicious food on the menu. I remember eggplant rolls, French fries with the obligatory oregano, yiayia’s superb zucchini balls, the lamb chops which were described as aged, pork kleftiko served en papilotte. We washed all this down with a stunning white wine from the island of Santorini. Incredible to learn that the present owners have only been on this site for two years. We returned a few days later for a lazy late breakfast eating kayanas and yoghurt with honey while drinking freddo espressos. A must anywhere in Greece and perfect in the hot weather. If I’m ever lucky enough to return to Milos, I would head straight here again for the perfect mix of great food and wine and warm service in a...
Read moreWhere to even begin. The waiters have the same little story to tell to each new customer - how they just opened four days ago. Food was ok, until it wasn’t anymore. Greek salad with Xynomizithra cheese ok (it’s just chopped vegetables after all), moussaka was alright, but not the best we’ve had in Greece, lamb kleftiko left lots to be desired. Wine list is acceptable, even the house wine seemed to taste alright. Why 1 star? On our third visit, waiter brought us a plate of bread - we did not ask for and we were charged 3€ for it. Now, I am fine with paying my bills, but tricking you in order to extract more money from a returning customer - is unacceptable. In comparison of other taverns / restaurants in the area, service is just ok, food - edible, but soulless and it’s made to sell, not to please your palate, prices - exaggerated giving the...
Read moreVolta is a modern Greek taverna located by the sea next to Adamas Port. We visited Volta twice during our stay in Milos We enjoyed a warm welcome by the staff. They were very friendly, willing to recommend some traditional salads and dishes. Our dinner was really delicious, way more than expected. Service was fast and attentive. The prices were overall affordable, one hundred percent value for money! The second time was two days later during our departure. We had breakfast and enjoyed some good coffee while waiting for the ferry! The location was perfect, as we had sea and port view so we could see the ferry coming avoiding long waiting under the burning sun.
Volta was Overall a great experience, highly recommended if you...
