The WORST experience we’ve had in all of Greece — and we’ve visited many cities and restaurants!
We arrived at this restaurant in Milos with high hopes, even knowing it was a cheap place. We at least expected basic service. We couldn’t have been more wrong. There were several empty tables, and other people were standing around, clearly waiting to be helped. And the waiter? Standing in a corner smoking a cigarette, completely ignoring everyone.
We decided to sit at an empty table and asked if it was okay — he said yes. But no menus were handed to us. We had to get up and grab them ourselves. Even after that, he didn’t come to take our order. Nothing. We had to go to the counter to order directly, where an extremely rude lady “helped” us.
She asked THREE times whether we were eating there or taking the food to go. I said we wanted to eat there, and she snapped, “Well if you’re eating here, you have to order at the table.” Excuse me? What table service?! The waiters weren’t attending to anyone. Just to finally get some food, I said we’d take it to go.
After picking up the food (just like two other tourists did), we sat at a table to eat quietly. Then, out of nowhere, the same waiter who ignored us earlier stormed over and rudely told the other women at the table to leave because they had ordered takeaway. In that moment, my friend had to chug her Coke just so we could leave quickly, humiliated, as we were basically kicked out for their lack of organization and basic customer service.
To top it off, the waiter had the nerve to say, “I get paid to serve.” Well — if that’s true, then DO YOUR JOB. And do it with some level of respect and human decency. None of which we saw there.
It was by far the most frustrating, disrespectful and infuriating experience of our entire trip. Horrible service, hostile environment, and complete unprofessionalism. Be warned: go there only if you want to be ignored, mistreated, and embarrassed — or better yet, go literally...
Read moreThey didn't have the gyros, but without pushing us, offered everything else that was on the menu. Even with the table set, they were offering us to come another day if that's what we want - simple and polite. So, souvlaki it was. The food arrived very fast. It was nicely served, apart from standard paper around the pita, it arrives in another paper, almost like a bag, that you unwrapped like a present. I didn't see many other options when it comes to regular gyros, but despite that, everything is as it should be. It will be my pleasure to visit this place again. Beware, my photo is missing a couple of fries, sorry about that. And yes, I could have gone for two, but that would be too much for dinner. This way I had some space for dessert. I think you can add an extra souvlaki piece, and there's the full dish option, which is practically like three of these positions, I presume. The potato seems like a fresh one, rather than French fries. Some people were complaining in the comments about it being undercooked, but I only sensed freshness. Same thing with onions - proper, cry me a river, onions. They taste like homegrown onions, but of course I don't know that. Could have been from anywhere, but it tasted proper. Check it out and make your judgement, but I'll be back if I...
Read moreWorst experience ever, for the second time! As we visit Milos since 2010.First time we ate there, we were really disappointed. Some years later we gave it another chance. Same result. Rude staff, uncooked pork and uncooked pita pie. Almost raw. We visited our WC many times after that.We were furious but didn’t do anything apart from leaving the place and move on with our positive vibe in our vacation. We went for a take away this time and the woman at the register gave us the weirdest rude looks when we asked for the pork to be grilled well enough. She looked at us with irony and pretended she was in a rush, avoiding eye contact, as if we cursed her. Very rude attitude with no reason. But that is the least of it. The pork we ate for the second time there in the 10 years of our visit was the same. Almost raw, as well as the pita pie too. They have so much work from tourists that they ignore the quality. It is clearly the place for tourists that have never eaten a souvlaki before and can’t tell the difference. For us Greeks it’s the worst experience ever. Avoid eating there if you don’t wanna visit your toilet 4 times a day. So disgusting n disappointed. Speaking of disgusting you should never visit their toilet there. Smelled like an abandoned wc on a...
