Ampelaki Restaurant — Restaurant in Municipality of Naxos and the Lesser Cyclades

The island of Donoussa has been waiting for a restaurant in the style of Ampelaki. Every dish is prepared fresh and that comes through in the taste. Ampelaki salads are to die for with fresh ingredients, large portions and displayed with love and attention on the plate. The range of pizza available and pasta dishes will make any foodie envious. Greek food on the menu is different to that of other tavernas and restaurants on the island and will not disappoint. A favourite starter of mine is prepared by the mother of the cook - traditional cheese pies - and not to be missed. Large terrace with sunset views, family business, well almost... mother in kitchen, daughter serving, father sitting and watching. Everything is fresh, herbs get picked up from the garden. The food overall was good, but the service was terrible. We arrived when there was only 1 other table, and still it took them a very long time to serve us. We were 3, and all our dishes arrived separately. In particular, my son's pizza arrived 10 minutes after We received our dishes. Our son was starving waiting for his pizza to arrive.
