EUCALYPTUS — Restaurant in Municipality of Northern Corfu

When booking, we explained it was out mother's 80th birthday.

It's like an episode of Fawlty Towers. "Just don't mention the wasps!" The waiters don't assign themselves to a table in particular, but instead flap about like headless chickens, taking orders and forgetting them. Attentive to few tables and ignore the rest. It took us half an hour to even get water for our table. Ordered food from a surly clothes peg who snipped a curt thank-you before you'd finished speaking. No grace, no smiles, this isnt fancy service its just bloody rude.

An hour and a half til our starters arrived so we spent our time laughing at our sorry situation, playing wasp-badminton and repeatedly requesting for a terracotta smoking pot to deter the little bastards.

My brother in law's face when the bacalao bianco arrived. A thick slab of cod steak swimming in grey mush. Anyone want to try some? What's that face cats do when presented with a florets of raw brocoli?

There is little chance of extracting all the meat from langoustine claws if you don't provide lobster picks. Squid Game new challenge, perhaps.

A dessert menu wasn't offered and by that time, we were in hysterics anyway, agreeing this was by far the worst restaurant for atmosphere, service and food. You could say all style no substance, but there's no style or sophistication here, and no love or passion either.

What a miserable place. Train your staff and sort out the damn wasps.

We were recommended this restaurant and came for lunch - by boat from Kaminaki! Our equal first best restaurant in our two week holiday (see review of the Seafood Restaurant in Avlaki). A beachside table was prepared for us despite being busy and not booking. Families and swimmers spread up the beach; tourists, local Greeks, groups and couples all catered for. Attentive speedy service, great location. We had ouzo meze, grannies cod pie and fiery prawns. Not cheap but good value; a couple of items from a neighbouring table appeared on our bill but were removed without argument when challenged! We did not see the kitchen or the chef at work. We are surprised by some of the negative comments here as we had a great experience. A good first choice for a family or on a budget and we would definitely...

Sadly did not live up to our expectations. We booked this place based on recommendations for a double celebration. The service was appalling having been kept waiting a very long time. Eventually when we were served it felt as if we were an inconvenience. As for the food, the starters were great which we all enjoyed, but then the mains arrived. Mine looked like mushed up baby food. Quality taste and presentation was very poor.

The location of the restaurant is great with a great atmosphere overlooking the harbour however this is secondary. If the food and service is poor, the entire experience gets ruined. Sadly that was what we experienced.

We did noticed was that those who appeared to be regulars were treated much differently.
