Kaparelli Taverna — Restaurant in Municipality of Northern Corfu

At first we got bread and butter without ordering - we thought it was a compliment from the restaurant, but then - surprise, surprise - we found it on the bill like 2€ for person. It was very arrogant and rude. Next, prices were really high. 18€ for ordinary greek burger is too much. 19€ for pork filet that - attention!!! - were tough as shoe leather is not understandable! When I complained, the waiter told me that maybe next time they should cut meat thinner. Okay, nice, but what should I do with this information and my tough peace of meat? I went to this restaurant by the end of June with a big group and the food experience was very mixed. Personally I thought the food was good. I ordered a traditional dish called Beef Stifado and it was marinated very well. The appetizer - very simple, halloumi and tomat on a pita - was just rightly balanced. The food came on time, getting a good location on a small beach is hardly a challenge and this restaurant of course had one - right in front of the sea. During my 5 night stay in san Stef, I went to this restaurant twice. The food both times was excellent and the staff so friendly and hospitable.

Me and my friends tried 3 other restaurants in the harbour and a couple in other nearby bays and this was definitively our favourite. Probably the most well-priced too.
