With the beautiful beach setting in mind, this should have been a relishable experience but sadly it was memorable for all the wrong reasons. Upon entering the bar, the bartender dropped a glass which smashed and the flying shards caused two cuts to my 11 year old son's leg. Granted, this was an accident and the staff apologised and treated the injuries. However, my son was very shaken up and it really took the shine off the experience particularly when the bill came and they hadn't even taken my son's drink off the bill. It would have been a kind gesture, especially as the whole incident had made us late for a dinner reservation. When I jokingly mentioned this to the bartender, he reacted in a very aggressive manner and simply said that my son wasn't that hurt and it didn't matter. This escalated into quite a heated argument because his attitude was really upsetting and in the end he conceded to say that we could have the next round of drinks free. By this time, however, we were late for our dinner reservation and there was not time for further drinks. He finished the debacle by saying that we could return after dinner to claim our free drinks but by that time, I was so upset and disgusted with his aggressive treatment of us, there was no way we ever wanted to set foot in the place again. I'm not sure that the staff here have the first idea about how to treat customers which is disappointing considering the amazing Greek hospitality we have experienced in every other establishment on our holiday.
Just to clarify - my son never 'ran around ' after the incident. We sat down the whole time we were there. I'm not the kind of person who is out to get drunk. We went for one pre dinner drink as a family. I did not demand not to pay. I was making a point about the fact that some gesture would have been appropriate given the situation. My children did not blush and my husband was silent - all of them in shock of your aggression which is perfectly demonstrated in the tone of...
Read moreThis restaurant is the best I have eaten at in Sidari hands down! The restuarant is a lovely setting, with clean and modern decor and tables. The staff are so lovely and friendly, one night we visited they were clearly short staffed and run off their feet, but this did not impact service at all and they were doing absolutely everything to get people’s orders to them quickly. The food is so delicious, all made fresh and comes out hot, they don’t even charge for any extra toppings on pizza which is amazing. My only issue is that they bring out bread and it seems as though it is complimentary, but they then do charge for it on the bill. It’s not expensive though, so I didn't mind, just be aware of this when visiting. The bar area next to the resturant is also lovely, right on the beach and cocktails are great and reasonably priced. We visited here three times on our week long trip, it was amazing compared to some of the other disappointing places we tried in Sidari. Only wish we had found it earlier....
