Liberty's Taverna — Restaurant in Municipality of Northern Corfu

What can I say.! This is the seventh time we have stayed and eaten in Liberty's Studios and Taverna. Believe me, there is no better place on the island. This is a completely family run business. The studio's are excellent, compact and cleaned every day. The highlight is the Taverna, we have tried all the restaurants in the area and Liberty's is quite simply the best. Labis is the front man and does an excellent job, nothing is too much trouble. The real stars are in the kitchen, his wife , mother and niece ( Xenia, Matoula and Katherina) produce fantastic food every time, we have tried nearly everything on the mend, it's excellent. Labis's father Vangelis grows all the vegetables in his huge garden and also makes the white wine for the Taverna. Another highlight is Labis's two children, Ioanna and Vangelis, who help out where they can and play with the guests children every evening. The Studio's and Taverna are situated in a very quite area and about 50 metres from the beach. All in all a small piece of paradise that I can only...

Visited Liberty’s on the strength of the good reviews and we were not disappointed. Baked feta and fried cheese excellent. Stewed beef with pasta and stuffed tomatoes were both extremely good. Good sized portions and very well priced Would recommend and we will be back.

Visited three times now, second visit we had sea bass and the gyros. Sea bass perfectly cooked, gyros was the best main course I have had in Corfu. Actually went back next night for the gyros. Definite skills...

Absoluut geen aanrader. Geen gezellige sfeer, plastic stoelen zijn veel te laag voor de tafels, het eten was 2 uit 3 niet lekker. Dochterlief had de chicken souvlaki - zou je niet veel verkeerd aan kunnen doen, zou je zeggen. Het was een gortdroog stukje kipfilet, niet meer en niet minder. Amper kruiden en dus smaak er aan. Ik had stamna; 3 stukje droog rundvlees in een sausje (was oké, maar daar is ook alles mee gezegd) met een hele dikke laag patat en wat kaas. Geen 3 soorten geproefd. De patat was bij ons allen zoals op meer plekken gebakken in olijfolie, wat dus inhoud: slappe van olie doordrenkte aardappelstengels. Ik en dochterlief hebben de helft laten liggen. Mijn partner had "rouled pork" (even de Griekse naam kwijt). Die was qua smaak en malsheid oké. De groenten waren ver te zoeken.

Qua bediening.. tja, wat zal ik zeggen. Geen 1x is de man die de bestellingen opnam en bediende langs geweest om te vragen of het naar wens was, of we nog drinken wilden, etc. Bij niemand viel op, behalve bij een stel vaste gasten. Hij was liever met zijn telefoon bezig, blijkbaar. Weinig "Griekse gastvrijheid" zoals je die op vele andere plekken wel vindt. Kreeg eerder het gevoel dat hij ons liever zag gaan.
