Taverna Bikolis — Restaurant in Municipality of Northern Corfu

Took a walk out to Sunset Beach from east Sidari (no mean feat I tell you!). On the way back stopped off at Bikolis.

First impressions were good with the man of the joint welcoming us with open arms and being very friendly. He also was the chef it seemed, so we didn’t see him once we’d ordered. The tzatziki and bread was very nice and the garlic butter it came with was divine.

For the mains the chicken kebab was fairly good, but the portion was fairly small and I was still hungry after eating. In Crete mostly you’d get bread and tzatziki included with the main but it doesn’t seem to be a thing around Sidari (perhaps because of the touristy feel).

The young lad here was friendly enough, but other staff were a bit standoffish. In previous places across Greece you’d normally get a small dessert or drink to finish, but nothing here though (again mostly a case in Greece you’d get this as standard). All in all the remote setting was nice, but the mains and service weren’t spectacular.

If you’re up there maybe pop in, but not worth a special trip in my view. Ionian Blue and Katerina’s are probably better if...

Really delicious food made and served by people who really care about it. We had great traditional food, and were aided through choosing by the very helpful waitress. - she didn't want us to order so much we couldn't eat it. Sadly we did :-D but they boxed that up for us to take away. She offered us the seafood day specials and actually introduced us to the chef so he could show off the fresh ingredients, which were excellent. I'd say just a main is probably plenty for most people, so if you want to try the starters then come back and have those as a mezze another time! Edit: we came here for a second time during our last evening as it was our favorite meal during our trip in Corfu. Don't get me wrong, the food in Corfu was overall extraordinary but this restaurant really exceeded our expectations! This time around we had the BBQ for 2 as well as deserts. I would come back to this island just to come to this restaurant !!
