Bookali Bar — Restaurant in Municipality of Papagos - Cholargos

Having visited many restaurants and bars and while working for the hospitality industry myself, I have to say that hands down, this is one of the worst experiences I had. Unfortunately I couldn't hold myself back from not posting a bad review (which I rarely do).

I visited Bookali "Bar" with my brother on Thursday 9th of May around 2ish in the afternoon for a couple of drinks. The place wasn't too busy at that time and we easily found a table to sit down (no greeting/welcome or anything whatsoever at the door). We had a quick look at the menu and ordered one daiquiri along with one of their house cocktails. At this point let's note that all the tables (3 maybe 4) around us have already been served and our order was the first in the queue.

We waited 10 minutes and the waitress came back asking if I ordered a Strawberry daiquiri?? I politely reminded her that i ordered a classic daiquiri. At this point it got me thinking that they might have an already mixed up strawberry daiquiri in a bottle for fast serving, as this is the most popular daiquiri flavour that usually people go for in bars. That way it would save the "bartender" the hassle of making one from scratch.

We waited for another 20 minutes (30 mins in total so far) and we turned our heads looking at the bar, witnessing the "bartender" clearly struggling, lifting random bottles and at the same time talking with someone at the phone (perhaps the night shift bartender) as he had no to zero knowledge in how to make our drinks.

After around 40 minutes!! in total waiting time for 2 cocktails, the waitress served our drinks without even being apologetic for the waiting time! Such rude behaviour and zero empathy from her, served the drinks and quickly left.

Notes for the establishment's manager/owner:

1. Retrain your floor staff. Basic customer service skills need to be implemented immediately: •A smile and a greeting when your customers are coming in. •A simple "sorry for the waiting time" is the least you can do for a 40min wait. •If there's no one trained to make cocktails at this time then swiftly come back to the table, apologise for the inconvenience and try to offer something else instead. Do not improvise.

2. If you want to write "Bar" in your name then at the same time you must be able to support it. Again, train your early shift to make cocktails and have a basic knowledge of spirits and drinks. It's not the boy's fault for not being able to make our drinks. It's your fault for not training him properly.

3. On another note, if you are not serving drinks at 2pm then you'll need to specify that in your menu but that's not the case here as you are an "All day bar".

Needless to say that we won't be back here. The only positive thing that I could comment on is the atmosphere (which it's not the greatest either hence the 3/5 stars for that) and the boy's attempt in making our cocktails at the back of the bar. Το μαγαζί είναι κάπως συμπαθητικό, χωρίς όμως κάτι το ιδιαίτερο. Η μουσική καλή, αλλά τα τραπέζια κλπ είναι πολύ κοντά το ένα με το άλλο και όταν έχει κόσμο είναι πολύ ασφυκτικά και έχει πολύ φασαρία. Την τελευταία φορά πήγα με φίλη. Ευτυχώς δεν είχε πολύ κόσμο και μπορέσαμε να μιλήσουμε χωρίς να φωνάζουμε. Η σοκολάτα που πήρα ήταν συμπαθητική αλλά δεν έφερε ούτε ένα μπισκότο για συνοδευτικό. Η φίλη πήρε κάποιο αναψυκτικό με γεύση που της άρεσε πολύ. Παρακάλεσε την σερβιτόρα να της φέρει κάτι για συνοδευτικό, εκείνη είπε ότι αν και προσφέρουν πατατάκια στα ποτά και όχι στα αναψυκτικά, θα της έφερνε. Η φίλη δεν είχε πρόβλημα να πληρώσει τα πατατάκια. Απλά η σερβιτόρα δεν τα έφερε ποτέ. Η τουαλέτα ήταν καθαρή, αλλά επειδή έχει αρκετά σκαλιά, δεν είναι πρακτικός ο χώρος για άτομα με κινητικές δυσκολίες. ξαναπήγα Νοέμβριο 2019. οι καφέδες ήταν καλοί και είχαν συνοδευτικό γλυκάκι. η σερβιτόρα πολύ ευγενική και εξυπηρετική. πήγαμε πάλι τον Απρίλιο 2023. η σερβιτόρα ήταν ευγενική και εξυπηρετική. καθίσαμε έξω και πήρα ένα εξαιρετικό bagel με σολομό,...

Ένα αστέρι και πολυ τους είναι! Επισκέφτηκαμε με τη φίλη μου χτες το μαγαζί (19/03) και όταν ήρθαν οι καφέδες, η σερβιτόρα κρατούσε στο κάθε χέρι και έναν δίσκο με αποτέλεσμα όταν πήγε να πιάσει τον ζεστο καφέ και να μου τον δώσει τον έχυσε ολο πανω μου, καθώς και στα πράγματα μου διπλα στον καναπέ και αντί για συγγνώμη είπε "δεν πειράζει!" Ζητήσαμε χαρτί μας είπε δεν ειχε δυστυχώς, και μου υπέδειξε να παω στο μπανιο να πλυθω. Εννοείται τον καφέ τον πληρώσαμε στο τέλος (αφού όπως είπε προφανώς και θα τον πληρώσουμε γιατί μας έφερε άλλο) Εν πασει περιπτωσει αφού πλήρωσα της λεμε ουτε ένα συγγνώμη δεν ζητησατε και μας απαντά το είπα, αλλα μαλλον δεν ακούστηκε από την μάσκα. Κερασάκι στην τούρτα, της λεμε η εξυπηρέτηση σας είναι απαραδεχτη και μιλώντας μας στον ενικό ισχυρίζεται ότι δουλεύει 5 χρόνια εκει και δεν μπορούμε να της το πουμε αυτο.
