Phenominal! The only word my partner could use to describe his ham hock dish.
We were unsure at first as the restaurant was initially empty, but so very happy we decided to stop for lunch here. It is a short walk away from the main square, (possibly why it was not busy?)
The view was stunning, the service was excellent - very welcoming, friendly and attentive, but not all over you either which was perfect.
Now to the best part - the food! Starters were tzatziki and fresh warm bread, and grilled squid with fennel. Both fresh and light, great flavours. The mains we had prawn pasta and the ham hock. We could not fault either dish, our only regret was that we wasted stomach space on breakfast earlier. The prawn pasta had a delicious sauce that was both creamy yet light with a hint of Cherry tomatoes mixed in. The ham hock fell off the bone, paired perfectly with creamy mashed potato and grilled vegetables cooked to perfection. All elements complimented the hearty meal. To finish off we engaged our second stomach for the homemade baklava. Crunchy, sweet and delectably moist. Best meal in...
Read moreI chose this restaurant specifically because the menu has scorpio fish Bourdeto and cod fish Bianco. Both are priced at 30-35 Eur which I assumed depends on the weight of the fish. I really wanted to try bourdeto made with scorpio fish but all other restaurants in Gaios require you to either pre-order it, or they have it priced per kg and only have big fishes (2kg) or they make the dish with other fishes like monkfish. My issue with this restaurant and the reason I give it 3 stars is that we ordered both Bourdeto and Bianco dishes but they were not made with scorpio and cod as stated in the menu. They were made with some kind of snapper fish or so I was told by the waiter in the restaurant, but only after we had been served. So I do feel a bit scammed. If I knew the dishes were not made with scorpio and cod fish, then I would have gone to a different restaurant where both dishes are priced at 20 eur. I was...
Read more"Thalassa" is a lovely restaurant by the port of Gaios, that offers an amazing dining experience.
The service here is impeccable, the staff was attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. They go above and beyond to ensure every guest feels special, adding a personal touch to the experience.
Each dish was a small piece of art, not just in taste but also in presentation. Fresh and tasty, every plate that arrived at our table was a feast for the palate. The fisherman's dish entry was exquisite, the risotto with shrimps and risotto with chicken and asparagus were awesome and the Greek salad came with a twist, a handful of capers that added to its flavor. At the end of the meal, they treated us to fresh fruits and offered my little daughter a crème caramel, on the house.
Very tasty food, great service, cozy setting.
Highly...
