We visited Piscis on a Sunday around 4-5pm. The first sign something was off? It was the quietest restaurant on the street. But, trusting the positive Google reviews, we decided to give it a shot. For context, my husband is Greek, so I rely heavily on his impeccable standards for Greek cuisine. We often visit this street for its variety of dining options, but unfortunately, Piscis missed the mark. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a young, tall waiter who seemed pleasant but a little shy. He seated us, only for the manager (or possibly a senior host) to give our table away to a family of three who arrived after us. The younger waiter tried to intervene, but the manager dismissed him in a way that suggested he was more interested in being “right” than actually being helpful. Once seated, we noticed the restaurant was rather cold. A couple behind us, who appeared to be Russian, kept their coats on, which made us wonder just how chilly it really was. I asked an older waiter to turn up the heat, and thankfully, he did. We started with the Piscis Salad. Unfortunately, it looked like it had been hacked together by someone with no regard for symmetry—huge chunks of lettuce mixed with shreds, all drenched in an overpowering amount of pickled radish. There was no olive oil or seasoning, so it tasted like… well, pickled radish. Next, we tried the crab meat dish (or was it prawns?). The Greek menu listed it as prawns, but the English menu said crab. What arrived was battered meat, possibly tempura, served on a bed of bland supermarket coleslaw. We couldn’t figure out what it was supposed to be, and it didn’t taste like either crab or prawns. The octopus dolma came out cold and lacked flavor. When we asked the manager why, his explanation was that it was "next to the cheese." But the cheese was untouched, and this didn’t explain why the dolma tasted so bland and unappetizing. My husband ordered the koutsomoura (red mullet), which arrived cold and tasteless. There was a consistent lack of warmth and flavor across the board, including the mussels, which were also cold and flavorless. When we brought this up to the manager, he asked us to touch the bowl, which was only lukewarm at best. A dish that should have been steaming hot barely produced a wisp of steam. The only redeeming part of the meal? The potato fries—freshly cooked and actually hot. When we voiced our concerns to a young female staff member, she was polite and professional, and she fetched the manager. He brought us a bowl of fried calamari as a “replacement.” We didn’t ask for calamari and specifically avoid fried dishes, so offering it without checking first felt off. He also offered a free dessert, but by that point, we’d lost interest in anything on the menu. Preserving our taste buds seemed more important than accepting a freebie. We paid our bill without accepting any offers because, at that point, it was about the quality of the experience, not the money. While the staff (except the manager) were friendly, the food and overall management left much to be desired. Having experienced Greek food all over—from the finest restaurants in Plaka to tiny tavernas in rural Greece—I can confidently say this was the worst Greek food I’ve ever had. It was a real disappointment, and not in a good way. A shame to Greek culinary culture.

Walk down the street along the water and there are seafood restaurants after seafood restaurants. This one had the top rating and it didn't disappoint. To start, we got the bread and anchovies. The bread is a big portion and feeds 2-3. For our main, we got salmon, mussels, and the shrimp pasta. Everything was fresh and well prepared. So tasty! If you get the shrimp pasta, know it's clean shrimp with no tails, veins, etc. At the end, they brought out chocolate covered orange slices and a dessert liqueur. It's a beautiful restaurant where you can sit outside near the water.

Our visit to Piscis was nothing short of extraordinary. Every dish we tried was a delight, from the fresh salads to the perfectly fried squid, and the tuna tartare was an absolute highlight—fresh and flavorful. The prawns were cooked to perfection, and to top it all off, the dessert was the perfect ending to a remarkable meal.

The ambiance of the restaurant added to the experience, with tasteful and calming music that allowed for a relaxing dining atmosphere.

Service was equally impressive. Our waitress was not only attentive but incredibly charming, ensuring that every detail of our meal was taken care of.

All in all, Piscis offers a top-notch dining experience that I...
