Almiras Restaurant — Restaurant in Municipality of Platanias

Me and my family have visited this restaurant since it opened more than 20 years ago and the quality of food and service has stayed the same, in a good way. For us this place is very nostalgic: back then this restaurant had a small, shaggy, terrier-like dog always sleeping in front of the stairs that lead to the restaurant’s beautiful roof-top terrace. Because of that dog we called this restaurant (and still call it) The Dog Restaurant. The dog made an impact on us. 😄 Back then I was 12 years old and had the best spaghetti bolognese of my life (it is a core memory for me 😄). Just recently, 3 weeks ago, as a 35-year old woman, I had the same dish and it was as delicious as it was back then. Almira restaurant is a beautiful restaurant to enjoy greek and world cuisine, the dining area has scenic views of the landscape to enjoy while you're dining, initially looking at such a large and extensive menu it was hard to believe that every dish that was ordered exceeded expectation in every way possible, the waiting staff are a fine example of Greek hospitality with no request going unanswered during our dining experience. An on spec visit as we were tired and hungry on the way back to our apartment,they were open nice and early which suited us fine. Lovely spacious terrace with super views over the coast. Nice menu with had my favourite, Swordfish, so that was me sorted. Hubby chose the Lamb in wine and we had the house white as an accompaniment. Everything delicious, including the house wine. Wonderful attentive service, even when the restaurant became busy. A super, well run family outfit, like so many of these delightful restaurants we find ourselves dining in.
