The short: Poor service, poorly cooked food, and additional costs that weren't notified.
The long: Our server acted like he was in a constant rush (the restaurant was at about 50% capacity), and displayed very poor manners for general server behavior. He kept reaching across the table to have us place things down instead of walking around, he filled our wine glasses incredibly uneven, and even spilled wine without a single remark. He also bumped into us a couple of times with no apologies. When he gave us the menues he simply plopped them down and walked away without a word.
On TripAdvisor it says there are plenty of vegetarian and vegan options, but unless you want to eat apetizers or salad, there is only 1 option. So this is false.
For the food, we ordered several apetizers and a main each. The saganaki was plain and flavorless, the zukini balls were too salty, and the grilled halloumi was barely grilled at all. The salad was served on a flat stone plate which made it difficult to eat. The souvlaki mix' grilled meat was really tough and rubbery. The server asked us which sauces we wanted for the souvlaki mixes and the lamb, without mentioning that sauces cost an additional €2.90. This feels like a deliberate tactic from the server, as he did not ask if we wanted sauce, but rather which sauces.
Additionally, we were told we had to pay by cash as their terminals weren't working, but only after he asked us "cash or card" and we replied "card". One of us went to the store next door to withdraw some more cash as we were short, and the store clerk said that this was very common from this restaurant, and that they just want to avoid the credit card fees.
Finally, the raki that we were served at the end was really harsh and the "watermelon ouzo" tasted like it had been watered...
Read moreWe went here for a late lunch one day and it looked like we were the first customers of the day. The waiter was really nice and sat us down by a table close by the fan, which was really nice in the heat. We ordered a green salad, chicken souvlaki and chicken filet. We also asked for the dressing on the salad on the side, and this was no problem. Everything tasted really good, the portions was big and not to bad priced. The salad was really fresh, and the chicken was nice seasoned! The food also came fast and the waiter checked up on us regularly. Nothing bad to say about the place and I would recommend going there. They have a large menu so everyone would most likely find...
Read moreWe have been here in August 2020 and left very desaipointed😒 We ordered traditional greek apertizers like saganaki cheese and grilled haloumi - by far not as good as in traditional places; The greek salad that was very tasty in other restaurants in Platanias, lacked any taste and flavour gotbetter ones in Lidl. We ordered grilled octopus, wich was tasty, but not grilled at all ( possibly boiled, not sure how it was cooked) If you want to taste the original tasty, good greek food I recommend the traditional family restaurants. I hope you will have the chance to find better food than the one...
