Many travellers will understand Greek accommodation can be basic and please bear this in mind when reviewing . We were in room 10 which was 1 bedroomed with a sofa bed in the spacious living area - separate bath / shower roon . Both areas were serviced by individual quality aircon payable at 5 Euro a day to the hotel . Good sized balcony to view the sea and eat breakfast comfortably . Very nice and genuine management couple in Elona and Nikos whom double up as bar tenders , cooks , entertainment , etc. Real family feel to the place . Small but adequate pool area . The BBQ Sunday night is not really a barbecue and as we were a big group of 7 we could not get seated before the brought in food started to go cold so we had to pass and move off to a nearby taverna - no real problem as we were expecting a proper hot coals BBQ anyway and would have been disappointed . Read moreCentrally located near the center of the village, Marakis is an ideal base for a family holiday here.||||Family-run, owners of the Marakis are very friendly and open to chatting. The hotel itself is great for families with children, with both of its pools being contained in the central area of the hotel, along with the constantly manned Pool Bar, where snacks and drinks can be purchased.||||I would recommend stocking up your kitchen from one of the main nearby grocery shops. Making your own breakfast to take on the balconies is quite pleasant. ||||The mid-day heat can be quite punishing in the central pool area, but during the evening and afternoon, this area tends to be very cool and relaxing. It becomes an ideal place to be after a day on the beach.||||Be aware that the hotel is on a tight side-street, so if you are using a transfer coach you will likely be left off / picked up on the main street. I recommend checking the hotel location on Google maps...
Read moreGreat location - quiet since it's located behind the buildings towards the main road, but still just a few meters to walk for bars, restaurants, shops, bus etc, with beach also very close. Two pools and lots of sunbeds, shade can be found under one of the many trees in the garden-like area between the pools. Rooms are a bit dated, but very functional - well cleaned and all you need in place, including a good shower and OK beds. This is a family driven apartment hotel, not a brand new hotel complex - so I give 5 stars for what it is, since it in my view is a great little place as a centrally located...
