Platanos Tavern — Restaurant in Municipality of Poros

Unfortunately; Poor food. Very poor service, took super long to get each dish, which were served to by two over a period of 20 minutes so the first plate was cold when the final dish was served. The waiters barely spoke english. The chicken was super dry. The salad was drenched in vinegar. The risotto was barely finished cooking.

We were a group of 8 people and were seated rather quickly. Took about 15 minutes before the waiter took our order. First plate served within 10 minutes, the fries which was a side order to one of the other dishes, they quickly became cold. For some reason, the dishes started coming in two by two, over a period of 20 minutes, the first person was finished with their warm food when the last dish was served. Furthermore, two of the dishes were served with the wrong side order, we sent them back to get the correct side order. Then we got the plates back without any side order, only chicken on the plate, nothing else. We asked if we could get any other side order instead and they replied, "sorry no english". We then asked if we could speak to someone in English... They said they did not have that side dish today and left our table before we could answer so we had to...

I recently dined at this restaurant, and unfortunately, it was a terrible experience for me and my friends, who run on a low budget. Here’s a summary of our visit:

Service: The service was exceptionally bad. We had to wait an excessively long time for our food, which was frustrating and inconvenient. The waiter who attended to us was not nice at all, which added to the unpleasantness of the experience.

Food: When the food finally arrived, it was disappointing. The quality was subpar, and the portions were not worth the price we paid. It felt like a poor deal overall.

Unexpected Charges: To add insult to injury, they served us bread without us asking for it and then charged us 1€ per piece! This unexpected charge felt like a rip-off and left a sour taste in our mouths.

In conclusion, our experience was very disappointing. The bad service, poor food quality, and unexpected charges made it an outing we won’t be repeating. If you’re on a budget and looking for a pleasant dining experience, I’d recommend steering clear...

Amazing food 🍲 . Amazing atmosphere ⛅ . Very nice owner Elia, thank you for the great service! Wine 🍷 is carefully handpicked and taste great. Bread is homemade in the house with incredible olive oil from the best olive plantage in Greece 🇬🇷 We had the tzasiki/w bread - simply amazing Fried Saganaki cheese - Jesus what just happened to my mouth! (just incredible) Roasted baby pork - melts in you mouth! (seriously delicious) Homemade. Good quality ingredients. If you are looking for an original greek taverna that just delivers! This is the place to go.

Update. We ended up eating here 3 days in a row.

Things not to miss out on: Baby pork portion. Lamb in the oven Stewed Beef in tomato sauce And DO NOT MISS OUT ON THE AUBERGINE DIP!.. Just do it Actually. Everything was Cooked to perfection. Freakin' amazing 😍

Price was also good. We usually payed around 50€ for 4 people with drinks
