We were looking forward to coming here as it always seemed packed out and a busy fish restaurant by the sea is always worth a go! As we arrived we were told that, as they were hosting an event, they were only offering inside tables. We were okay with this as it couldn’t be helped and we were there for the food rather than to be sat on the beach! The service was distracted and despondent - we definitely felt that although they certainly wanted our money, they didn’t really want our presence. The waiters’ demeanour was lukewarm at best, curtly providing base level functionality with no hint of friendliness at all. They were preparing for their event so we could understand it to a point but it really did seem unnecessarily brisk! There was music but someone kept turning the volume up uncomfortably loud, which was pretty irritating; once it was left alone it was an horrendous slew of garbage, some vapid hint butchering cover after cover in ways each more heinous than the last… apparently only a few songs on the playlist too as we were annoyed to hear the same awful din repeating after no time at all. We decided to order everything together to shorten our time there as again, we felt most unwelcome; we ordered our Greek salad alongside our mains, not sure at the time whether there would be accompaniments with the stated item or not as there was no indication of this anywhere on the menu. Bread was placed on the table without a word (I’m gluten free so can’t eat it - over half was left when it was taken away around 5-10 mins later) for which we were subsequently charged 3 euros- the most expensive bread we’ve had in our whole two week holiday - most places either provide it for free or charge maybe a euro at most. We had a Greek salad, cuttlefish risotto with ink and a swordfish steak to share. The salad was nice, the swordfish was mediocre but the risotto was actually pretty delicious, earning that extra star for food, otherwise it would have been a 3 at best. We ate up and swiftly ordered the bill with which a small square of cake accompanied to end the meal - I think this might have been free? Not enough to make up for everything else that was lacking but it did taste nice at least! As we paid I tried to compliment them on the risotto and received only a tight smile in return - the look said to me “Just hurry up and get out” so we did lol We had high hopes that were unfortunately dashed on this occasion. We had a much better experience further along the shore so took this as a lesson; don’t settle for the first restaurant you come to on the beach - I suspect that this might be why it’s so busy rather than the food, service...
Read moreStay away from this place. Terrible service with face control. On the way to our table the server bumped into us without saying sorry or anything. Felt very unwelcomed throughout the meal. We ordered coke and they brought pepsi, when I questioned the server said it is the same. They microwaved most of the dishes, However their french fries are freshly cut and tasty. Their target group is the German tourists. At the end of the meal when every other table got dessert with their bill they didn't bring anything to us so I questioned a different server and he said they may be out of kerasma however they brought...
Read moreOverall, my experience was decent, but the devil is in the details. Would I consider going back? Nope.
The grilled shrimps were exceptionally delicious and highly recommended. However, the paella and risotto were a bit too salty for my taste. I've had better versions of these dishes at other places.
The only downside was the neighboring table, which had two individuals who seemed to be VIPs. They turned on the TV but didn't seem to be watching it. Instead, they played a video loudly on their phones. It felt as though they were entitled and could do whatever they wanted, which...
