Restaurant HELONAKI — Restaurant in Municipality of Pylos and Nestor

Avoid this restaurant. They forgot my order, I ordered grilled octopus and 30 minutes later when all of my friends got their food they told me that they forgot my octopus and offered my grilled squid instead. Owner claimed that squid is much better than octopus and that I will be happy about the change in the order. It came 15 minutes after, it was gross, tasted like gum, hard to chew and tasteless. I tried to explain that I didn’t like it and owner didn’t do anything about it. I ate one bite and left all of it on the plate. They didn’t even apologize, firstly for the forgotten order, secondly for the bad squid. We expected that they wouldn’t charge the squid or maybe they will give us some dessert as an apology gest, but unfortunately we were shown out with words “don’t come again”. We...

We actually meant to eat next door but we’re enticed in by Emilio and Anna as we walked the beach. We were a little nervous when we first sat down as we realised that we had “the wrong restaurant”- oh how silly we were! Emilio was very attentive and Anna extremely thorough and we really enjoyed our meal here with our son and daughter in law. The starters were a little underwhelming (deep fried zucchini balls and dry meatballs that could have been great with some tomato sauce) but WOW, the fresh fish we went and picked with Emilio was excellent and was cooked superbly along with grilled veg and fries! I had planned going to another restaurant for months. I had walked 20 minutes from my hotel on the beach to get there. I was three minutes away from it when the owner of this fabulous restaurant spoke to my husband and I. Within seconds he convinced us to try his restaurant. Months of planning gone in an instant, and I was SO happy! Best Greek food I’ve had all vacation. Extremely fresh and tasty. The octopus and tiropita were incredible. So was the pita and tzatziki. I would recommend everything! And the view- WOW! Also the service was amazing....
