A large group of 14 we booked for an evening meal. On arriving the table was not ready, after moving tables together we were seated. We were given a menu and a specials menu. When they came to take the order from the table none of the specials were available and approx half of the main menu. On reflection we should have left right then, but as we were a large group we stayed as we would have issues finding a last minute alternative. The ordering was chaotic 2 mains coming out immediately and then no drinks. The waiting staff and the kitchen didn't seem to be communicating well as we were told 40 mins after ordering that other items were not available. The food came out sporadically and was of a very low standard and appeared to be warm ups and possibly recycled food off plates. We addressed the poor service early on politely speaking to the waiting staff and later asked to speak to the management. 1 1/2 hours in, and some drinks had not been served and people were still waiting for starters. As if that wasn't bad enough, when management did come to speak to the table he was aggressive and appeared like the rest of the staff to be under the influence of alcohol. This was an all round bad experience from what looked like a really nice place. It would have been better all round if they had cancelled the booking even on arrival. This unfortunately is the worst standard of food and service I have experienced on all of my travels abroad. AVOID THIS RESTUARANT!
In response to the owner, I have attached screen-shots of messages to the venue. As you can see the owner is wrong and...
Read moreThe only bond I had with this place was the ordinary fermented liquid that traveled from the glass to my lips. No conversation, no smile, not even the minimum warmth that makes one feel like a guest⌠Only what is called service, in truth nothing more than a hurried act of carrying from point A to point B.
When I was about to pay the bill, the figure of the owner appeared at my table. With the air of an Englishman, yet stripped of all the grace such an air once implied. He did not ask if I wished to leave a tip with courtesy, but demanded it with the posture of a bully. In that instant, I realized: for some, it is not service but opportunity that stands as their only true capital.
âNo,â I said. âNo tip.â For a tip is the gift of oneâs goodwill; it is not a check-box in the digital menu of a card machine. But my friend, by a slip of habit, uttered âtwo euros.â And at that very moment, the mask of opportunism fell away completely. The man was not satisfied. Unsatisfied, with a baseless greed, he thrust the device toward me: âFive, or ten?â
O opportunist dwelling in the shadow of the blue hotel! A tip is earned with the sweat of service, not begged for. Your card terminal offers me no choice, it merely exposes your avarice. And know this: money gained by shaming the customer will, sooner or later, bring shame...
Read moreWe had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. My husband and I ordered our meals together, and while mine arrived after about 30 minutes, his never came. We waited patiently, but after 40 minutes we asked a waiter about the missing dish. He acknowledged the issue but then disappearedânever returning with the food or any explanation.
After another 10 minutes of waiting in uncertainty, we approached the manager to pay. We were told they couldnât locate our table number in relation to my husbandâs pasta order. The manager then claimed we should have informed someone that the meal hadnât arrivedâbut we had done exactly that, and the staff simply failed to follow up.
The situation highlighted poor organisation and a clear breakdown in communication among the staff. Itâs difficult to understand how they managed to serve one meal but lost track of the other, especially when both were ordered together. No guest should have to chase down their food or be left waiting without any update.
To their credit, the manager eventually offered a complimentary cocktail or meal, but by that point, the experience had already been ruined. We declined the offer, paid for what we had, and leftâwith my husband still hungry and understandably...
