Opa opa grill — Restaurant in Municipality of Rhodes

A bit off of the main drag the smell of the grill led us to the type of restaurant that we had been searching for all vacation. Loved everything about this authentic grill with its small yet on point menu. The owner was available and he put together a huge platter of dips and treats for us to sample. One was tastier than the next. The grilled fish made our hearts go pitter patter; crispy,crunchy skin with moist meat that easily released from the bone. The food was okay but certainly not worth the enthusiastic 5 stars reviews written by many.

We ordered a mixed grill (no porc) The beef is very thin but nice The Lamb tasty and tender The chicken we did not even bother to eat, it was like eating rock.

The atmosphere is nice, owner and staff friendly, frequented by locals (usually a good sign), BUT.... The locals SMOKE inside the restaurant.

For me that is an absolute NO GO. Smoking inside a restaurant is not allowed for Many years now within the EU.

The food and the restaurant’s feeling is really good, but the place can get chaotic if there are more people. We didn’t like the fact that the terminal was not working and they didn’t inform us until we went to pay so because we didn’t have cash with us we had to walk back to the our staying place for cash and the go back for paying our dinner. Overall I recommend it if you want to have a nice grill dinner, because everything was made on the grill freshly, but go earlier, around 7pm or before if you don’t want to...
