For a laid-back spot to grab a bite, Taverna Grigoris is a solid choice. This unpretentious little gem has a cozy vibe that’s perfect for a no-fuss meal after a day in the sun.

The staff greeted us with the kind of warmth you’d expect from people who have been standing in the sun all day and don’t particularly care that you’ve just interrupted their cigarette break.

We kicked things off with some starters, and they did not disappoint. Delicious, flavorful, and exactly what you’d hope for when you’re this close to the Aegean. But then came the mains. Let’s just say the meat could have used a little less time on the grill. It wasn’t bad, just very overcooked.

Still, the most entertaining part of the evening was the speed with which the food arrived. I’m convinced the staff served us so fast because they were eager to finish up and sit down with a drink themselves.

We found the whole thing hilarious, they had places to be, and so did we, apparently—just not the same places.

A little gem! We had heard good reviews so we took the 15 mins walk from Cooks club where we were staying and we so pleased we did. This place is quaint and lovely. Family run with fresh food cooked to order. I am coeliac and the waiter couldn’t have been more helpful to advise me what I could eat. The fish was so fresh, one of the best I’ve tasted in a long time. My husband had the mix plate of traditional Greek dishes and was also extremely happy. Incredible restaurant. The service is brilliant, you can tell the staff really take pride in the restaurant and the food and they always serve with a smile and with a great attitude. The food is delicious. I had gyros one night and Souvlaki another and can highly recommend both, the mixed seafood dish some of my group had was also incredible from the bits I tried and from what they told me. At the end of the second meal one of the waiters gave us a shot of Mastiha to try on the house which was such a nice gesture, it tasted great too!
