It has potential, but fails on some basic service stuff that can be corrected easily. Food was very nice (I even enjoyed the lamb, which is not something I usually like), but beer was flat and almost felt like watered down because of that. We asked for couple of small things that they forgot to bring us and also had to wait about half an hour for the bill (having asked for it 3 times). And it's not a pleasant to feel like you're turning into a Karen. Also, I asked permission to smoke while the place was fully opened up and having been seated right next to the opened glass walls and I was declined while my neighbours were allowed and encouraged to do so. I sympathize with what looked like being the owner of the place, he really works hard, but you can't micromanage a taverna like that because you can't be yourself in 4 places at the same time. We had dinner with our children and grandsons at Carrousel. The food was delicious,the staff was very friendly and everything was fresh and very clean. I really wanted to give 5 stars but there were serious service issues that are causing me to clip two stars away. We sat at 8:00 PM at our table. The nice person who looked like the owner who was very busy preparing the bills and getting money from other tables finally got our orders only at around 8:35. It looks like he is not ready to share the job of taking orders and taking money with anyone else in his team thus creating a huge bottleneck. When I asked him at around 9:00 PM if we were going to get our orders anytime soon his answer was "you got here at 8, it is a very busy hour". At 9:10 our food finally arrived and as I said earlier it was delicious. It is clear that this wasn't a one time incident, it's more a systematic problem that he can fix if he only understands that he's hurting his customers and his business. We had a wonderful experience at this Greek restaurant😋! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the food was absolutely delicious — the grilled octopus was tender and full of flavor, and the moussaka, Greek plate, tuna salad and many others were perfectly seasoned. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made great recommendations. We especially appreciated the quality of ingredients and the generous portions. Definitely a place I would return to and recommend to anyone who loves Mediterranean cuisine. It’s the best place in Rhodes. We’ve tried almost all Greek cuisine here and it was very delicious.
