Tsambikos Restaurant — Restaurant in Municipality of Rhodes

The best tavern we visited during our visit to Rhodes. The tavern is situated on a hill with a stunning view over Pefkos. Majority of the tables are on the outside terrace (with cover that can be deployed should it rain). If you book early and is lucky enough to get one of the front row tables, you will enjoy a stunning view with your dinner and even stars above you. This alone is worthy of 5 stars.

The staff are very friendly, professional and efficient. If you order a soft drink and water for the table, this was the only tavern that offered us a glass for the soft drink and another for the water. Nice touch. A lot of other places would give us a straw for our soft drinks or expect us to drink from the bottle or can.

Similar story with the cutlery. By default, the table is set with 2 sets of knives and forks each. No need to reuse from the starters.

All the dishes we ordered were really nicely presented and tasty. The price is on the higher side of average but for what you get and the service, it is well worth the money.

Booked a table, on arrival the hostess didn't seem sure of our booking at first. Then we were seated away from the main veranda to the side on tables without cloths. Not being too happy with this, we left and asked why if we had booked we were put there. The inexplicable response from the reception lady was that walk-ins take priority over advanced bookings. A total absence of logic to me, but hey ho there you go. Edit: The response doesn't really stand up to scrutiny. We made an advance booking out of season and there was still plenty of room on the main verandah. The fact they couldn't seem to find the booking means they were not prepared for our arrival hence being placed in the overflow. The establishment has not addressed why they said advanced bookings were 'not as important as walk-ins'. That's an incredible thing to say. Also we did not leave 'in a bad way'. We felt ignored and left calmly not before questioning their seating decision on the way out. There was no apology or offer of remedy. Instead, I'm just left with a defensive response. Feel vindicated...

Delicious food, casual but classy service and wonderful views. The food is very tasty, cooked beautifully and arrives promptly. In my very personal opinion certain dishes could have been seasoned more generously but for the most part the food was excellent. The service is the casual relaxed style that one would often come to expect in Europe and leaves sufficient but not overtly long times between courses to enjoy the conversation and company. Staff are polite and helpful in recommending dishes. The real star of the show is the view, breathtaking views of the town and the sea can be seen with ease and creates a beautiful ambience within the restaurant, ideal for a classier night or a date night...
