Απέραντο Γαλάζιο — Restaurant in Municipality of Sifnos

We visited vathy beach on a very hot day. We got exhausted from the heat so we seeked some shelter to this restaurant until it was time to depart on the local bus, which did not run very often at the time of our visit. We had a salad and feta saganaki as snacks as well as drinks. We had a special request to not have onions in our salad, but when they brought the feta saganaki there were onions. They acknowledged their mistake and without fuss replaced our order. We also tried to find some running water at the beach to clean our feet from the sand and the people at the restaurant offered to fill up a bottle of water so we could do what we wanted. That was very nice of them especially considering that they don’t really needed to provide any such help. In general the people were very friendly and accommodating. I cannot comment on their food as we didn’t try their main dishes, however what we had was decent and above all on a hot day like this, the place looked like an oasis. This place has become one of my favourite places on Sifnos. I ate here for the first time 2022 on my first trip to Sifnos. On a short visit to Vathi we saw that they have fish soup and giant beans and we decided to stay and try them out. It was delicious for a quick lunch on a hot day and we added orange juice and a fresh watermelon. I then returned several times during the last 2 years while staying in Vathi and I was pleasantly surprised that the recipe of the fish soup stayed the same - the perfect balance of fish, vegetables, and a tasty soup. Greek salad without or with cheese 4e difference. Not the biggest one we had (12e). Grilled octopus as written in the menu for 15e. Small dish with cutted cold octopus , served in 2 minutes together with the salad, what means it was not grilled when we ordered. Not what we expected from a Grilled Octopus. Wine was nice and good price. Service was friendly. Beautiful place next to the sea. There are better options...
