What is not to love about this family run boutique hotel. Firstly, that view upon arrival - quite exquisite. High up and overlooking the bluest of blue waters of the Aegean Sea. Secondly, the very warm welcome by Spiros. This is a gem of a place. Not only are the rooms spacious and clean - with a lovely area outside to sit and enjoy a glass of wine - but everyone is so friendly and accommodating to every need and request. We visited close to the end of a 3 week holiday on the islands of Milos and Sifnos - and I have to say that the evening meal we had in the restaurant here was one of the best we had during our whole holiday. We have to make a special mention of Vassiliki (hope I have spelt your name correctly) who was excellent in serving breakfasts, restaurant meals, coffee, cocktails - in fact everything associated with food and drink. We really appreciated her sense of humour and service with a smile :)||The hotel is well situated - a 15-20 minute walk into Apollonia for catching buses to places on the island. In particular it is well worth checking out Kastro - an historic township steeped in history. Spiros will advise on places to visit. ||A highlight for us was being there on a Sunday and having the opportunity to try the famous Sifnos Chickpea Soup - absolutely delicious. But then, all the food here was delicious.||A big thank you to you all for making our stay a very memorable one. And for Spiros driving us down to the port to get the ferry when we left. Very much appreciated.||We will be back and cannot rate highly enough the warmth you all extended to us during our stay. A very well deserved 5 stars given. ...
Read moreThe hotel is located a short distance from Apollonia, close to the super market and just before the cemetery. There is a small parking lot by the entrance. The hotel offers a magnificent sweeping vista overlooking the Kastro villago on the hill below and the sea beyond. There is a sizeable swimming pool with plentiful loungers.||We stayed in the Standard Room on the ground floor, down some steep stairs, with a small veranda. The room was decent-sized with a sizeable bed and large wardrobe, safe box, though not enough storage space overall. The lighting was pretty good albeit the dangling lamps on both sides of the bed were rather a nuisance.||WiFi signal was good and AC worked perfectly.||Bathroom was quite standard with usual accoutrements and even a bar of soap! Water pressure in the shower was good.||The buffet breakfast was served in the dining room above the swimming pool. It had the usual variety of cheeses and cold meats with egg dishes varied daily. Fresh sliced fruit was provided. Coffee, as is customary around here, was extra.||The hotel provides evening meals and that was really great as a choice of restaurants on the island is rather limited. Perhaps we were rather spoiled after experiencing Ermoupoli in Syros. ||For alternative we trundled to the nearby Kelari restaurant which served comparable cuisine. ||Evening drinks, on the terrace of course, with lights of Kastro twinkling in the distant sea below, were absolutely unforgettable!||Staff were very friendly...

This was our first time to Sifnos and after researching multiple properties we landed on Gerofinikas. The property is small, has amazing views of the sea and the coastal town of Kastro and was incredibly quiet and peaceful.
This is a family owned and operated hotel and you will not be disappointed by the staff. Spiros, Vassiliki and the entire staff went above and beyond to ensure an amazing stay.
They arranged port pickup and drop off, they were available any time of the day, they remembered our coffee preferences, and the breakfast buffet was a wonderful assortment of fresh meats, cheeses, pastries and eggs to order, not to mention the amazing fresh orange juice!
I recommended this hotel for couples or anyone who wants to relax! If you plan on spending a lot of time in the room or are traveling with more than 2 people, I would splurge on one of the larger rooms/suites.
We booked the basic room, which was more than we needed, as we were out and about but it was close quarters. On our next visit we will probably plan to book the larger room with daybed.
Thank you Spiros, Vassiliki and team for making our first visit to Sifnos absolutely remarkable! We...
