We gave this place a fair shot however it was disappointing.
Key things
Food was lukewarm to cold Waiter lied to my wife trying to sell her deep fried kefalotiri however it was ordinary cheese that was pan fried (like normal super market cheese you put in your sandwich) Calamari was ok, and somewhat tough but edible and tasty Chips were stone cold and old Cocktail was extremely alcoholic and not remotely sweet
Good things
Fried fetta was unreal, I loved it.
This in would have been a 3-4 star review however being lied to I don't appreciate, the fact that we are tourists doesn't mean we don't know greek cousine. Both my wife and I are seasoned with greek cuisine and travel in general.
I hate giving places bad reviews I really do, but if working in the industry has taught me is to never lie to your customers and bring them fresh food.
I would avoid this place if I was you, or maybe they just had a bad day, however 4 plates were cold and only two warm seems odd and I'm extremely annoyed at the waiter lying assuming we don't know what's what.
Edit: after calming down a little and reflecting the review stays the same, what we should have caught onto is that when we asked the waiter about a certain item he replied with 'we have everything' even thou it's not...
Read moreExtremely hospitable staff, amazing food and nice atmosphere. We've received an authentic Greek cuisine experience by ordering Skoumpri and Halloumi as starters, followed by grilled octopus and Retsina to drink, finishing the meal with authentic Ravani for dessert. I am especially happy about the fact that I was able to ask for the grilled octopus not to be prepared dry, and I was pleasantly surprised that I've received octopus that was juicy and easy to chew, something that has become a rarity in tavernas throughout Greece (which wasn't the case years ago). The portions are regularly sized, if not on the smaller end, but with the ordered starters, it was more than enough to satisfy even the hungrier in our group. I personally wish there was a bit more octopus in the portion, but times have changed throughout the world, and it is understandable that a larger portion wouldn't be rentable to the restaurant. What is most important is that everything I've tasted was superb. The Skoumpri, Halloumi, octopus, Retsina and Ravani were about 25-30e per person which was well worth the price in my opinion. We will both definitely be back and recommend this restaurant to others! Greetings from very very satisfied guests...
Read moreThis restaurant is in an idyllic location & has 3 seating areas...one up close to the beach & the other 2 across a pedestrian walk way. We arrived at noon. There were no other guests. We asked if it was too early to order lunch & were assured it wasn't. We asked to sit in the area close to the beach & were told they didn't serve food out there... We placed our orders..1 x sword fish & 1 x grilled tuna. There were no other diners. Lunch took 45 mins to arrive. Both were overcooked..the tuna to the point of being like shoe leather. I complained about the tuna & they said they would re do the meal...it would take 20mins...it took 30 & again it was over cooked but at least the centre was edible. While I was waiting for my tuna to be re done, people were sitting out in the area closest to beach & were served food!!! I would have thought a seafood restaurant would know how to cook fish correctly!!! Sword fish was also over cooked, but was...
