A lot of change has occured in between last summer and this summer in Mochlos. A few businesses moved around, a few opened. Sochoro is the best thing to come out of it all though. I've been coming to Mochlos for years and have always enjoyed the food, but Sochoro takes it to another level. The food here is just as good as some of the more established, longstanding, restaurants in Heraklion or Chania. Even better, in my opinion because of the service. Eleftheria and Ermioni have been a center piece of Mochlos ever since I started coming a few years ago, but now they've really made their mark at Sochoro. It really is great guys! The cook is coming from Athens and you can tell - it's much closer to a star restaurant than the traditional Greece tavern in a good sense. But at the same time it keeps the typical Cretan hospitality without any forced stiffness and most surprisingly there even was free Raki on the house. Be prepared to pay more but you get your moneys worth.
