We are absolutely appalled by the owner of this taverna. He ATTACKED us and tried to take our personal belongings (phone and drone) !!!!!!! We sat for breakfast and ordered an espresso (which was served to us with sugar) and we kindly asked to exchange it. The owner told us we must pay for a new coffee if we wanted it (3 euros per coffee). He also charged us an extra euro each for bread that we didn’t order, without telling us... When we received the bill at the end we asked him to take off the bread that we did not order and the coffee that I didn’t touch. He got angry and threatened to call the police and then tried to physically fight my boyfriend. He then tried to take my personal belongings and snatched my phone directly from my hand and told me I won’t get it back until we pay for everything or until the police arrive. Everyone sitting near us and around us was absolutely horrified and disgusted by his behavior. Anyone that has been to Greece can verify the warmth and hospitality that is normally felt from the people here in Greece... which is why I was especially shocked because I have never encountered such bad service EVER let alone here in Crete... Very disappointing. I don’t recommend this...
Read moreThe owner of this place is the rudest person I’ve ever met, We ordered two espresso coffees and he put sugar in them without asking and we don’t drink with sugar. I drank it cause I felt bad to return it but my girlfriend couldn’t touch it so we asked for a new one. He told us we have to pay for this coffee and a new one too. On top of that he charged each of us 1€ for bread we didn’t even order. After asking him to erase the coffee that my girlfriend didn’t touch from the bill. He told us we’re either paying or he’s calling the police. Then he grabbed my girlfriend’s phone and told us we’re only going to get it back once we either pay or the police comes. Then I grabbed her phone from his hand and told him it’s our personal belongings and he Cannot touch it. He clenched his hand into a fist and waved it in my face. I kept my cool and told him several times to leave the phone. And still after all that he told us we must pay for everything. We have never encounter such behavior before and we both have been working in restaurants for the past 5 years. This is awful and shameful behavior and any person that reads this should avoid going to this place. Absolutely disgusted by this place...
Read moreWe had intended to eat elsewhere but it was closed so we sort of forlornly wandered in here. As we didn't have a reservation we were given a larger table further back from the sea but still with a charming view of the spotlit Mochlos. It turned out to be a complete winner. Our host asked us if we would like to view the specials in the kitchen. We followed him in and he described about 5 dishes while two talented chefs worked in the background. We selected from the specials, moussaka and a fish stew and courgette flowers. The house white was very good. After our meal we were offered a yoghurt with something like a stiff marmalade, which was very refreshing. We had breakfast here the next morning, omelettes and...
