The worst experience ever! I’ve never felt so discriminated in all of my travels until now. Traveling oversees sometimes banks deny any suspicious transactions for security purposes! I wanted a small salad and orange juice, but unfortunately my card declined. I then called my bank to assure them it was me, but ofcourse speaking with an automated voice messaging I was on hold for a little while. I told the cashier i will call my bank as I preferred using my card and saving my cash, but the rude cashier called the airport police on me while I sat infront of the restaurant on hold with my bank. He told them “I am acting like a child and I made him ring me up knowing I had no money and wanted him to pay for it instead” ..??!!! Apparently once they ring you up you can’t cancel the order and payment MUST be made! He asked the police to search my bags for cash, and Ofcourse I declined as Nobody has any rights to search my things, but I was told I can get arrested for refusing to finish my purchase. (Mind you I didn’t eat or even touch any of the food and left it on the counter) reading the reviews it’s obvious the hospitality in this location is at an all time low and staff needs to be revisited! Long story short, I paid cash and was told to make sure I’m not broke before I decide to make a purchase. I went next door and was able to buy coffee with the...
Read moreI have never seen something more disgusting. Let me elaborate on that: I came to have a sandwich, with Greek Gyros and I saw some Gyros machines, with delicious looking Gyros and some ready made “sandwiches”, that were probably older by me. The mustard was already dry and I thought, okay, those are the display, when I order a fresh one will come to me. I asked and they replied negatively, they were not willing to make a fresh one for me, even though they had the gyros machine and all. I asked: what if I want mine without onion? They replied, I can pull it out for you. And I said “no thanks, the sandwich has already smelled like onions, can’t you just make a fresh one for me?” They said no. Then I took a picture and the person seemed responsible there told me I am not allowed to do that. Let me tell you what you are not allowed to do: keep this level of sanitation and deny me to ask for a respectful service of fresh food when you are selling the sandwich for 7.4 euros, when the market price is half of it. I know, it’s an airport, I will pay things more and I am fine with that! I am not fine with buying a super low quality pork meat (that’s dangerous) and a disrespectful behavior on an...
Read moreI had lunch here recently while waiting for a flight at a gate close by. The restaurant is one of the few warm food places in that part of the airport, so they have a quasi-monopoly, which doesn’t help in terms of food and service quality. I went for the lamb shank with potatoes, which put me back about 17€ for a rather small portion. The amount of potatoes was pathetic to be honest: just a few lukewarm sad-looking and greasy fried potatoes in a cardboard box. The lamb shank was a bit better but also not a revelation at all. It was tender but not overly flavorful, so the whole meal was a disappointment. As others have pointed out, the queue system is chaotic and extremely slow. Even when there are only a handful of customers at the check out wanting to pay, it will take forever because the machine processes card payments at snail’s pace. The service staff handing out the food is rather grumpy and the eating area is busy and crammed - far from relaxing. This was definitely my worst food experience while I...
