Bottom line upfront, save your money and go elsewhere. All the possibilities of a great experience exist here; however, save the man in the suit who showed us our options to sit, this was a terrible visit. Stop here if details bore you. We chose a seat that has a nice couch, the place settings were across from us when we sat and were at the two chairs at the table. These were never moved in front of us, which, whatever it may have happened later when the food arrived. (Spoiler alert it didn’t). We then ordered basic food as we had a long day and were going to fly out the next morning and didn’t want full stomachs, meatballs. We ordered drinks and asked if they had a specific drink and they said yes. The bartender whose name started with a V, came over and said they didn’t have it but had others. We chose one and that was that. Our waiter never came back to check on our drinks and when our food was brought out it was set at the place settings across from us and not in front of us. Granted, we were watching a show, headphones on, straight ignoring the world and unplugging. I discount myself to say no motion was made to ask where we needed the food or if the place settings were ok where they are. I say this to be fair to the situation and to say I could understand if there was a miss communication. But, then when asked hey are we supposed to sit there where the food is, the waiter said it’s fine and moved the food and setting. Which in and of itself would be innocuous and innocent, except the waiter AVOIDED us from then on. Checking in multiple times on other tables and refilling drinks. I had to walk up to the bar and order drinks for myself and the bartender whose name started with a V was rude and unaccommodating. Quite put off that I was even up there. I’ve had way better service at local bars than here at a “5 star” hotel. We paid for our meal after a long wait, which mind you is normal for European places, but exceedingly so here. We brought the awkward encounter up to the duty manager at the front desk of the hotel and after investigating offered a 15% discount as, “ a gesture of good will”. And stated I would need to come back to the restaurant with my card so they could void the transaction and re-bill me. I told her it’s not about needing the money and no I wouldn’t be coming to the restaurant to go though the trouble of doing all that and to perhaps look into their process as never checking in on how the food was or having rude waitstaff is unsatisfactory. By the way the meatballs, a basic staple here, were terrible, but we were hungry so we didn’t waste the food. Save your money and...
Read moreA 5 star roof top restaurant worthy only to its sky high views. We had a unique culinary experience, accompanied with avant- guard coctail drinking amidst the blinding lights of the airport night vistas. Everything we ate at Jenny’s, from spicy fresh fruity salads, to mouthwatering tomato sauce dipped meatballs and finely textured/bright flavored fish carpaccio was truly delicious. Starting with just kneaded- fresh out of the oven bread accompanied by the most unique herbs and spices infused sun dried tomato butter (OMG), we had the most appetizing starters and fulfilling main dishes, like the full of tantalizing aromas and flavor-packed lobster pasta. Besides the high end Mediterranean menu and it’s strong cocktail game with its eminently quaffable drinks, there’s something to be said about all the members of the staff, all of whom are food enthusiasts, passionate bartenders, and highly trained service attendants eager to help, inform and elevate your dining experience. Choosing between the inside and the outside lounge is difficult… This rooftop oasis is a universe in itself. Utterly eclectic yet true to its Mediterranean heart, the design of the restaurant is bespoke and impeccable. Enter unparalleled combinations of luxurious marbles, rich textiles, mix and match wood furnishings and a conceptual elevated bar area, all gracefully tied together. The outdoor area is the most chill louvre rooftop filled with greenery and adorned with elegant fire pits and cozy corners. All in all, a visit at Jenny’s is a must and will leave you feeling very...
Read moreDuring my stay in the Sofitel, I chose to have dinner in Jenny's Rooftop Restaurant Bar. As a starter, I ordered the Mini Octopus Skewers and as a main course the Grouper Fillet. I really liked the presentation of the Octopus and it tasted great. While I was still enjoying the starter, the waiter already showed up with the main course. I know that in Greece it is not unusual that the main course arrives while you have your starters, but in Greek tavernas and restaurants you have several starters. If you have one starter and one main course, my expectation is to get them one by one. I asked the waiter to return my main course back to the kitchen and prepare it again, when I finished my starter, which he politely did. Nevertheless, that situation made me feel a bit uncomfortable because that might look snobbish. But if I pay a certain amount, I expect a certain service. The Grouper itself tasted excellent. At the end of the dinner, the restaurant manager showed up to offer me something on the house as compensation. A move that I really liked. But regardless of that, my expectation would have been having dinner without any issues. Usually, this would be a 5 star review. But the circumstances mentioned above made it “only” a 4 star review. During my next stay, I will for sure give it...
