We have just spent 9 nights at Maravelias Studios and the only reason we give it an average rating is that we don't consider it Very Good and there is no rating for GOOD.||There are many positives. It is walkable from the ferry (10 mins) mostly flat and then a slight slope to the rooms (NO STEPS) This is a plus point. We were met from the port by the fantastic Vasillis who is very welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable . We think the success of these rooms is down to his incredible enthusiasm and professionalism.||These rooms are ideal for a short stopover , linen and towels changed every day and rooms cleaned. There is limited storage space, only one small wardrobe and no drawers. Although the rooms have been painted some further updating is needed. There is a unit in the room with a sink and two hot plates but these do not work and are covered over, spoiling the look of the room as it doesn't serve any real purpose. A kettle, coffee maker and sandwich toaster are provided, also a hairdryer and fridge, plus air-conditioning. ||There is a lovely roof terrace and often it's not used so its possible to take food up there as well as sunbathe. Rooms are a little on the small side but this is probably similar to other port side properties. To sum up, as a stopover these rooms are more than adequate and represent value for money (50-55 euros PN) Ideal location perfectly adequate base to explore...
Read moreWe stayed at the apartments last week and we were very impressed by the location, the hosts and the great view from the roof terrace. We were met at the port and walked with Vengalis to the apartments, he gave us a really good run through of Symi - restaurant recommendations, trips etc. The room we had was at the side, so nice and quiet. The roof terrace was lovely and surprisingly quiet too with no other guests using it when we were there. There are also no steps to the apartment - Symi is steep in most parts but the apartment's location meant there was only a small slope/hill to walk up. The apartments are a good 10 mins walk to the port. Would recommend the Poseidon boat trip around the island, 35E including a great BBQ on the beach, time for snorkelling etc. We also went to Emporios beach which is about 20 min walk over the hill to the east - take the small road from the top right hand corner of the square - steep hill but the beach is so quiet and peaceful and the...
Read moreFor the same price: go somewhere else.||Awful smell of humidity in the room (worst in the bathroom). Don't think that's it's full equiped for cooking: there is no system to heat anything and no pan (fake publicity). And the kitchen was the reason why we chose this place from an other. But you'll have equipment for a "croque monsieur" and a café frappé. Very usefull if you travel with a baby (and let's not talk about the baby bed available).||||A lot of noise in the hotle and outside depending on the room. ||||We had to leave the island earlier because of the weather and the cancellation of our boat: they made us pay for the night using very VERY dishonest arguments.||||Our visit in this establishment was such a stress and a deception....We can't recommend...
