We stayed at Elena Studios from October 16 to 18, just for two nights. A very kind lady from the agency, who spoke Russian, showed us to our room (No. 1). She explained everything clearly and politely – we are very grateful to her.
Our room was very small but clean and tidy. The TV was tiny, but in a place like Symi, you don’t really need one at all. There is Wi-Fi and air conditioning. To make sure the bar downstairs wouldn’t disturb our rest, we closed the shutters and balcony doors and turned on the air conditioner – we didn’t hear any noise at all.
Unfortunately, the sleep quality wasn’t great – the mattress was quite worn out, with dips, and really needs to be replaced. The pillows were extremely hard and large, which made it uncomfortable to sleep.
We were pleasantly surprised to find an ironing board and a basket with clothespins in the wardrobe – such a thoughtful and practical touch! The shared kitchen had all the necessary utensils, though the room felt a bit damp from the drying laundry (bedding and towels).
Overall, it’s a good location with a lovely little balcony. Everything was clean and convenient for a short stay. After all, in Symi you only come back to the room to sleep – the island itself is the...
Read moreBooked a room for two with a friend on July. We enjoyed the great service from the cleaning lady, as she "helped us" get into the room quicker than expected. We arrived at Symi port early morning hours and got the room aroung 12:30 which was great news. Thank God prior guests departured early and we had the time to rest for a few hours, in stead of wandering in Symi's alleys! Room seemed a bit bigger in pictures than it actually is, but that was a small downside. Clean adn comfortable for a good night sleep. Could use improvement in making it easier to find, maybe signing somewhere (?) - we had to ask to be sure we arrived. The location is more than convenient, we got the boat taking you to the island's best beaches opposite our entrance! On foot, you can walk around the port and the little alleys, shop, have breakfast, drink coffee or eat something. On a neaby distance "Petalo" was a great discovery, offering food & drinks on a seafront deck from which you can also dive into the Aegean. Rest of the "worth seeing" beaches can only be accessed by boat. I recommend Agios Georgios to get a taste of the deep Aegean blue. Offers a stunning view, but no network or signal, just a few goats and the crystal...
Read moreThis place is an absolute gem for the price they charge. We were in room 1, a small double with a fridge, free bottles of water, a kettle with tea and coffee. A beautifully tiled bathroom with an unusually large, decent shower for a small apartment. It is right in the middle of the port, so some noise is to be expected, but it wasn't enough to bother us. There was a well equipped kitchen we could use, that was shared with room 2, but as we only stayed one night, we didn't use it. I've been home 2 nights and saw that they are almost fully booked for when we were planning on going next year, so have booked already! There have been a couple of mentions in reviews that it is difficult to find. Personally, we found it fine. I received a WhatsApp message from the host with a link for directions (FYI, If you stand at the bottom of the u-shaped harbour, next to the large anchor, looking out to sea, look at the buildings diagonally to your right. On the first floor you'll see a small sign next to a balcony that says Captains Suites. Directly to the right there is a narrow set of stairs that leads to a green door. That is Elena studios. To the right of the stairs are...
