The first place in trip advisor critics is something to take seriously in mind. Regarding the fact that it is not located in a touristic attraction like the port or a square makes the thing even more serious. The testimony is that it deserves its position. I emphasize. This is a itself a reason to visit kyklades capital. This restaurant combines materials and the best traditional recipes from the islands of Zacynthos , Crete, Rhodes and of course Syros. The final result is GOURMET with the best meaning of the word. The tastes are really fine and the portions remain huge as you can find in a more public restaurant. The environment is fine the music choices are impeccable. Please try the dishes of the day. I tasted the best pork meat slow cooked in the oven with potatoes I have ever tasted. The pasta with sweet zucchini feeling was amazing. So was the tiganites zucchini salad. Don t miss “revithada”. It is a local dish resembling a chickpeas soup with minced meat and tomato sauce. Absolute gourmet . The chicken cheeseburger is also amazing and the rooster with macaroni is also a must (I visited this restaurant every day I stayed in the island because I had to taste everything!) The Raki they offered us was mind blowing! The owners were really polite and helpful. The prices were really moderate , I dare say really cheap for this quality. I am looking forward to visit this gastronomic paradise again. The only thing missing is the desserts...
Read moreThis place has amazing reviews and so we were really excited to try it, but felt disappointed by the service and the food.
The staff were extremely inattentive. After being seated in the evening it took more than 30 minutes for them to take our order and it was very infuriating trying to catch the staff’s eye only for them to ignore us (maybe because we are not Greek locals?). We even set a timer for 5 minutes at one point to say we were going to leave if they didn’t come!
When they eventually took our order we had the smoked mackerel (this was nice but nothing special), the Imam (aubergine and potatoes in tomato sauce - this was OK but way too oily) and the spiced chicken with sour cream and pita (the only thing that was fantastic). We also had the dessert yogurt but it was just a yoghurt with preserve.
Overall the food was a bit hit and miss, but the service was so awful that we can’t give...
Read moreI can honestly say this place had the most interesting menu I saw during my time in Greece. They say they want to showcase the crossroads of East and West and the menu certainly plays that out... Lebanese lechmajun, Cretan potatoes, quiche Lorraine (spelled "Kiss Loren", which is so charming), Libyan salads, tabbouleh, Armenian specialities, and of course "sea pastrami". Plus plenty of Greek beer and drinks. Everything was tasty, generous, and cheap. I wish we'd stayed in Syros a week and we could have eaten here five times. The place has a very cool vibe and they make everyone feel welcome. Our server was so friendly without being cloying. One note, if you are visiting in the off-season, they might be closed, so I would...
