WOW. We ate here twice for dinner in our 3 nights in Thessaloniki. The first time, our flight arrived very late, we were staying in Rotunda, and our host recommended this tavern. We probably over-ordered out of hunger, but I do not regret it: we were blown away by the mushrooms in fave bean pureé, amazing quinoa salad, and the most tender kebabs. The staff were very friendly and played cool music near midnight.
The second time, we returned for more! We arrived earlier, ordered less on such a hot day, and the music was charming traditional rebetiko. We had beef cheeks with eggplant pureé and a delicious lentil & orange & beet salad with a yummy dry Argyrakis white wine. Incredible!
Something special, magical, and genius is at work with the brilliant chefs and menu at this place. We’ve traveled across Europe over the past 15 years (and in Greece 3x!), and this is hands down the BEST FOOD we can recall. We never go to the same restaurant twice on vacation, but if I lived here I’d be a happy regular. Prices are very reasonable for perfectly balanced, thoughtful, inspired cuisine you will not forget. Not to over hype, but you must go.

Read moreWhat an absolute gem in taste and gastronomy! Very unique menu and food options. They have a seasonal menu (Summer and Winter) so the produce they use is fresh and fitting for the season. I've been shocked and amazed by the combinations of sweet and salty, and the unique twists they have on each traditional food. Great variety of appetizers and meats. Prices are fairly priced compared to the center prices of the same quality. I've never been disappointed and always have my taste buds travel with the food that they serve. The staff is also helpful and friendly! My all time recommendation would definitely be kembapia and in the summer the shrimp rissoto. Definitely worth trying out if you pass by! My only complaint would be the interior design cause its rather empty and loses its atmosphere, but the food makes me forget all of that and takes me away to the beautiful culinary world...
Read moreWe lucked out finding this place. The food was amazing. We started with the Babaganoush and then we had the Crispy pancetta with a sweet & spicy tomato sauce and new potatoes. Omg, it was lightly charred but fall apart tender. The sauce was not what we expected but better than we could have imagined. We also had the rooster drenched in wine, served over hand made Greek pasta (hilopites). The meat was so tender and although the flavors were less bold than the pork, we would order it again as it’s flavor profile was also wonderful.
Service was casual but attentive. And even though they squeezed us in, we never felt rushed.
