Kritikos — Restaurant in Municipality of Tilos

The 2 stars are generous and mostly for the nice service.

We ate here because of the many positive reviews. I now realise these reviews must be from tourists who have no other experience of Greek cuisine. The bread was a TESCO lookalike, only stale. You simple cannot give this bread to a Greek person.

The rest of the menu was from medium (the goat) to bad (Bekri mezze). It was simply a different dish. I couldn’t recognise it.

Even my English partner, who always says all wines taste the same, could notice how bad our wine was!

For some weird reason the prices were about 20% higher than other lovely restaurants...

Had dinner here on Friday night - lots of other restaurants were already closed for the season and it was a cool and windy night, so the place was half empty. But the service was warm and friendly, the meatballs delicious and the fried calamari the freshest we’d had during three weeks so far in Greece. Nice little piece of poached pear as a complimentary dessert. Service from young fellow was lovely, even though it was their second last service for the year....

We were a little concerned when we sat down because the menu was ridiculously long. However, the food we ate here over 3 nights was excellent. The staff were helpful and friendly. They certainly know how to source and cook fish - perfectly cooked each night. Fantastic place and the house wines...
