Flame Restaurant — Restaurant in Municipality of Vari - Voula - Vouliagmeni

This was our second visit to ‘Flame’ and it’s fast becoming a favourite.

This time we brought the kids.

Once again, the atmosphere was welcoming and the service was friendly and professional.

We ordered cheese burgers, which we had spotted on our previous visit, and everyone agreed that they were outstanding.

My smash burger was easily the best burger I’ve tasted locally and one of the best I’ve had anywhere in Athens.

Everyone commented on the superb quality of the bread and olive oil.

The fried courgette was another standout dish. Many restaurants serve this but I can’t recall any as good as what we had at ‘Flame.’ 10/10 for execution and portion size.

Only one of us had a steak (rib eye) and they were very happy with it.

Unfortunately, the exquisite béarnaise sauce which we had on our previous visit was no longer on the menu (why?) and the thick fries remain a poor accompaniment to the high quality steaks and burgers.

All in all, another excellent meal and enjoyable experience.

Staff were friendly and professional

Starters were good with the fried courgettes and 'zouzoukakia' standing out. The carpaccio was well-presented and generous but lacked seasoning and acidity.

Our main courses were steaks which were cooked exactly as we had ordered - medium rare.

The accompanying béarnaise sauce was exquisite. By far the most authentic béarnaise that we have had in Greece.

The only downside was the fried potatoes.

Steak and béarnaise sauce of such high quality deserve proper French-style pomme frites - not the chunky 'rustic' potatoes that we were served.

All in all it was a great experience and we will most certainly return to work our way through the rest...
