A cute little oasis under the Athenian sun. Clean, cozy and quiet. Surrounded by remarkable red, brown and sandy rocks, full of blooming cacti and beautiful Mediterranean vegetation. Wonderful, capable staff. Respectful, accommodating and pleasant. Clean, comfortable sun-chairs, nice little sandy beach and clean water. Good food, well done, well presented. Great coffee. Cocktail options are available (although I didn't try any, so I can't comment on that). A little pricy for the average Jane and Joe, but of course, as with everything in life, one usually gets what one pays for.
However, since there is no entrance to the actual beach, there is the option to sit on the public side of that little beach bringing your own parasol and/or chair if you like. Also, one can find refuge on the wonderful rocks, either by the beach or by water if one swims a bit around to the left of the shore.
But I digress. This is a review for the beach bar after all. So all in all a 5 star beach bar My only complain is about the loud music after 15:30.
But, I will not take one star away from my review for that. It would not be 100% fair.
Because one, the terribly and/or terrible loud music, is a real problem in every bar and beach bar in Athens.
And two, the truth is that one can go there early and leave the moment the Dj arrives. Sorry mister DJ. Nothing personal. But as the Smiths' song goes: "Hang the DJ"
NOT everyone likes easy listening background music accompanied by the calming sound of the waves, and the ability to communicate with fellow sunbathers or the friends and/or family one decided to spend sometime with at this wonderful, yet pricey beach-bar. OK. We are all different. And that's ok. Apparently a lot of people like the loss of hearing, permanent eardrum damage, with a complimentary tinnitus for a lifetime. Along with vocal cord blockage after screaming to exchange two words with anyone around, followed by a mild to major migraine and a potential nervous breakdown or a stroke.
No, even though I sound bitter, I will not remove a star from my review. Five stars it is. Because everything else really is wonderful. From the golden glistening sandy beach, to the fresh and impressively large toilets.
No I will not remove a star. I will just express my disappointment. Because I could, unfortunately, never be able to enjoy watching the sunset in that beautiful spot. The music would drive me to the sea with a rope around my neck on one side and a stone on the other to end the misery 🤣
So, all you old farts and sane people like myself, go there EARLY and plan it well so you get the hell out of Dodge at the latest 16:00 Then...
Read moreUnprofessional Behavior of Parasol Supervisor at Your Establishment
I am writing to bring to your attention an unfortunate experience I recently had at your establishment. During my visit, I encountered significant issues with the parasol supervisor that I feel compelled to address.
First and foremost, I was disappointed by the lack of attention and professionalism displayed by the parasol supervisor. Despite attempting to engage with him regarding my needs, I found that he consistently ignored my presence and failed to address my concerns in a timely manner. This lack of communication led to unnecessary delays and frustrations on my part.
Furthermore, I was shocked by the disregard shown towards myself and other guests in terms of the wait times imposed by the supervisor. Despite being assured of a short wait, I ended up waiting for an excessive amount of time without any explanation or apology. This level of disrespect towards guests is unacceptable and tarnishes the reputation of your establishment.
Of particular concern to me was the supervisor's disregard for the well-being of children present at the beach. It is unconscionable to subject young children to extended wait times in hot weather conditions without any regard for their comfort or safety. This negligence is deeply troubling and reflects poorly on the values of your establishment.
On a more positive note, I must commend the service staff for their professionalism and dedication to ensuring the satisfaction of guests. Their efforts did not go unnoticed, and I appreciate their hard work in contrast to the behavior exhibited by the parasol supervisor.
While I enjoyed the opportunity to sunbathe at your beach, I must highlight the inconvenience regarding the reservation process for beach sun loungers. The lack of emphasis on the need for advanced reservations on your website created confusion and led to difficulties for guests during their visit. Clear communication in this regard would greatly benefit future guests and enhance their overall experience.
In conclusion, I urge you to address the issues raised regarding the conduct of the parasol supervisor and take steps to prevent similar incidents in the future. Upholding high standards of customer service and ensuring the well-being of all guests should be paramount at your establishment.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I trust that you will take appropriate action to address these concerns and improve the overall guest experience at your...
Read moreThe food here is truly special—creative, refined, and clearly crafted by chefs with exceptional talent. The gastronomic approach is bold yet thoughtful, and the service reflects genuine care from a team that’s clearly dedicated to creating a memorable experience. The serene setting adds a unique charm that makes the visit even more worthwhile.
Although the wine list could benefit from a fresher, more contemporary touch in relation to the Greek labels, there are certainly some standout selections worth exploring. The Sommelier has done a really good job.
That said, at this price point, there are a few elements that detract from the overall experience. The venue felt noticeably understaffed, with employees visibly overextended. Drunk patrons dancing and kicking up sand that ended up on diners’ plates disrupted what should have been a calm, elevated evening. Tables were packed tightly together, clearly prioritizing revenue over guest comfort. Within just two hours, we saw multiple guests injure themselves on a poorly placed table set directly in the only walkway—something that should never happen in a space aspiring to fine dining standards.
We’ll definitely return for the outstanding food and service, but we sincerely hope management rethinks the layout and atmosphere to better align with the excellence coming from...
