Well well well, what should I say? The restaurant baited us with its rustical and traditional ambience. Right after being seated we switched the table to sit closer to the sea, which was very much to discontent of the waiter. The table was really dirty and greasy from the people before, but the waiter refused to clean it because we switched without asking. He said its our own fault to switch to a dirty table. My girlfriend didn't even notice that the table was so dirty (and didn't see the beer can laying on the floor), which really bothers me a lot. We started an argument about cleanliness at home. After waiting for ages for the waiter to take our order, we really went deep into our relationship struggles. The food was delicious, so cudos for the kitchen team. Nevertheless we stood up to pay at the counter, and the old man seemed to oversee us and saw our empty table, thinking we were running away. He stared grimmly into the night, mumbling silent curses. We called on him, told him we're here to pay. He said "what do you think, that this is a fast food resraurant?!" and didn't say any other word, no thank you or anything. We didn't feel like being welcome here. Having had this intense restaurant experience leaves me questioning: do I want to be together with a woman that doesn't recognize a dirty table at all? I would have...
Read moreAltough the food taste is quite good, the behaviour of owner (Costas) is terribly rude. He seemed he doesn't want to serve to us fm the first moment (not same to locals). First of all, we knew that we were in a shabby restaurant which we're ok with this. There are 2 cooking people in kitchen (one of them very smiling lady) but Costas is alone on servicing foods and he can not (or he doesn't like to) take care tables on time. We ordered some starters, sea foods, mezes and ouzo for 4 adults & 3 young kids. Once we finish some of them including cold water , we wanted to add same dishes&water and he reacted that "this is not a luxury restaurant and we can not order one by one !? " in a bad manner. After some time, kids finished their meal and left, there were nobody to collect empty plates on table for long time. We started to collect them in order to have a clean table at least and he was not happy about it, he argued with us on that! So long story short, I'm not a spoiled one or a customer who has great expectations fm such a restaurant, I travelled a lot in different countries (and many times in Greece), but never exposed to such a scolding by restaurant owner. Even though the food is tasty :-), be prepared for...
Read moreIf you've stepped into the Blue Sardine, you may have noticed Costas. The same Costas Baba that often gets complaints in reviews due to his seemingly rough demeanor or delayed service. In truth, he's neither rude nor lazy; quite the opposite. He approaches his work with such dedication and authenticity that it's practically impossible not to be impressed. Costas and his wife manage everything themselves with very few staff members. If it's busy and you haven't placed your entire order from the start, you might need to wait for additional orders. When the tables are fewer, your meal reaches you quicker than anyone else's. 🤘🐟
Costas' dishes are fantastic, and the appetizers are simply a perfect. The ambiance slows down your pace and transports you to a haven that seems detached from the world, allowing you to immerse yourself in the Aegean vibe.🐙
Cheers to the...
