Karavogiannos — Restaurant in Municipality of Western Lesvos

Let's start with good stuff, food was good not great but good, service was fast and accurate but since I'm a local and I know what the price range is supposed to be for this kind of establishment (now the bad stuff) the prices were simply outrageous, we paid 31,5€ per person to have lunch! A local dish called pasti sardella which is freshly salted sardines, the most common fish to be found in our waters cost 6€ consisting of 5 very small fish. Anyway 25€ per personal is the price you pay on the island for the very best taverns. Definitely a tourist rip off. Another thing is that the place was last renovated about 40 years ago and it shows. The food here was absolutely outstanding — everything we tried was incredibly tasty: the fresh fish, lamb chops, salads (especially the Greenwild and Greek salad) were all excellent. The quality was so high and the prices so fair that we ended up eating here every single day during the Women’s Festival! seven days in a row!

The service was equally impressive: warm, attentive, and truly welcoming. The owners and their daughter made us feel at home, and the staff always went the extra mile with a smile.

This taverna is as Greek as it gets in a tourist resort like Skala Eresou. And that is a compliment. The location is perfect, litterally on top of the beach, with swimming people just in front. We shared a dish of green beans in tomato sauce and a portion of grilled mackerel. The service was kind and both dishes came in simultaneously, as asked, and surprisingly fast.
