Please be aware of the owner and his terrible temperament. We came to this village hoping to enjoy this coffee spot after a beautiful sunny day hiking along the Byzantine road. My friends and I stepped into this place, hoping to use the bathroom and get our refreshments. The man who received us started complaining about how we were coming to use the restroom only, altho we reminded him we were happy to get water and coffee. He kept baffling, “Why are we using the men’s bathroom” and “You better pay now for water bottles, each of you.”
We were a group of mindful mid-twenties girls enjoying our time respectfully and offering to spend money in his establishment (which was empty then).
When we came to the cashier and paid for water, he said, “You guys are all ungrateful” and “Go f yourselves” for taking advantage of his shop. We were scared of his rudeness and tried to calm him down, saying we got water and were happy to get more. At that point, he said, “Now I have to clean the bathrooms again,” like an angry grandpa. We didn’t know what else to do or say, so we left peacefully, and after we left, one of my friends laughed at his remark. So he stepped out of the shop and said, “What the f are you laughing at” while pointing at my friend. Then my Greek friend hosting us tried to talk to him in Greek to avoid miscommunication, and he suddenly stepped closer to her and raised his hand to her, almost about to hit her! We stepped in to protect her, and he backed off. This is unacceptable!!!! We were shaken up after this. The lack of hospitality and miserable service of this person gave us a horrible bitter taste. DO NOT COME.
He was so unkind. He...
Read moreCame back to the same place after 12 years. I was actually looking forward to show this place to my wife. It is a cute place on the square. I remember from my previous visits, having nice chats with the owner some calm summer evenings.
This time things were slightly different. The owner is working alone, he is obviously very stressed and there is no breakfast available anymore. There is even a note on the wall asking for patience from the customers.
Unfortunately his stress is coming out with the rudest way, he is shouting to the people talking to him, or dare to step in the cafe and ask for anything. He is heavily cursing on them in Greek and in English, yes, cursing, on their face. We were siting speechless at our table, watching and listening to this madness... It was impossible to maintain a good mood under these conditions.
It is a shame for a business that is located in such a great place to be managed by a mental person. It is shame for the tourists, to leave back to their countries having such bad memories. It is a crime against Greek hospitality.
Asking around in the village, the locals are aware of the situation and some even proposed him to rent the business to someone else if he is unable to run it properly.
I am not suggesting not to go, because if you get lucky you are going to enjoy the atmosphere and the snacks. (Try the orange pie!!!), (Don't try the tzatziki with olives for 10€ for F**k sake)
I hope for him the best and soon to make a turn in his life, maybe asking for professional help, and manage to be the host that his...

Let me explain: my girlfriend was waiting for me while I was getting cash (cause that's all he takes), and somehow that didn't sit well with him.
He started getting angry because she was waiting for me, and because a teenage girl was waiting for her parents.
Then, my gf decides to leave because clearly we're not welcome, and that made him explode. He completely lost it at her, he even tried to keep her bike helmet when she came back to get it after forgetting it.
At one point, some people asked him if they could order and he threw his tray on the floor while sighing heavily? What's your problem man? You get angey when people don't want to order but also when they want to? Get it together.
That's too bad because the location is amazing and I'm sure his products are good, but if you meet him on a bad day, you might get yourself scolded...
