From the get-go, the restaurant's atmosphere was welcoming and laid-back - a nice setting for a relaxed meal.
We kicked off our dinner with a decent glass of white wine, a cool and refreshing preamble to the food to come. The Greek salad was satisfying, a mix of fresh vegetables and feta cheese that hit the spot. The calamari was well-prepared, tender, and enjoyable.
The baked aubergine with tomato and feta was a nice experience of local flavors, a good balance between the richness of aubergine and the tanginess of tomato and feta. The sea bass fillet and grilled cuttlefish were well-cooked, their flavors unpretentious yet enjoyable.
Throughout the meal, we appreciated the staff's attentive service. They were polite and ensured our dining experience was pleasant. What really stood out for us was the value for money. Every dish was reasonably priced for the quality and portion size.
All in all, Alamar offered us a very good dining experience. Not overly fancy or pretentious, just honest, good food that we certainly enjoyed. We'd be...

Before I get to the food, I’d like to mention that I really liked the space. Large spaces, elegant island-style decoration and architecture. What I also liked is the pizza bar, where you see Mr Kostis, the friendliest pizzaiolo you’ve ever met, makes the pizza dough in front of you 👨🍳
🍕 On to the food. Obviously we took pizzas, one with prosciutto and rocket greens, one with ham. Both were really tasty, the dough is really well made and doesn’t sit bad on the stomach.
🍟 We also took the meatballs with fries, a Greek dish loved by many. The meatballs were excellent, with a hint of lemon in them.
🥩 We also ordered the caramelized pancetta with gravy sauce and sweet potato purée. It was simply mouthwatering.
🦑 Other than the above, we had the squid with the black ink and the feta sauce. A lovely combination that I hadn’t tried before.
Last, but not least, we had the chocolate pie for dessert. Yum!
I recommend AlaMar for your dinner after...
Read moreLovely restaurant but has room for improvement in a couple of ways. Was greeted with a warm welcome into a friendly atmosphere.
We had the house rosé wine and it was lovely. Was even in an ice bucket.
Has the Calamari and Tzatziki for starters and they were excellent.
Then, we had a rather long wait until the mains which was fine however, no check up and trying to get a servers attention was a little tricky as it got so busy! We just wanted another drink.
The mains arrived, great portion sizes! My partner had the lamb and I had the salmon pasta.
The lamb was amazing however, the salmon was so salty to the point I couldn’t eat it. A server came over and I told them, which I was told the chef would be informed.
We asked for the dessert menu when they took our dishes away, they dropped the menu off but never came back to take the order, so we ended up grabbing another server to just get us the bill.
I was a little disappointed by this experience especially as we love the Bourtzi,...
