Hotel muses is a lovely place to stay. The staff were very helpful and very friendly. It’s in a really good location for example only 2 minute walk from the beach which I learned was one of the top 10 beaches in Europe. There is a supermarket and many places to eat around the area too. There is also a bus stop right outside the hotel, so if you have booked any excursions that is the pick up and drop off point. The rooms at hotel muses are very nice and open, there is a mini fridge and air con which you pay for at any time. The breakfast is a little limited but it’s still really nice. The only thing I think hotel muses could improve on is the shower, as it has no door so the floor gets wet. Overall I highly recommend this place and would definitely go again.

It's a good hotel for the price. Lovely little blocks of flats and a nice pool. The room we were in for the night had a good sized balcony with chairs. Did miss somewhere to hang wet towels and bathing suits, no drying rack on the balcony. The shower was of the lower standard. There was no shower curtain so you did pretty much flood the bathroom every time you showered and if you're like me and enjoy a hot shower, you will be disappointed as the temperature didn't go anywhere near "hot". Breakfast was a very limited selection of Greek breakfast options. Don't expect a continental breakfast. However, the food served was indeed tasty! Overall, a good experience for the price we paid

Very nice and welcoming people, quiet room, near the forest. You have a shower in front of every building. That's excellent! Nights are fresh and calm. Bar near the pool is well designed and a good place to drink or eat ice cream and socialize. You can buy water directly from the owners, 3.5€ for 6x1.5 liters, so you don’t need to exhaust your muscles by carrying it from the supermarket. You have a couple of supermarkets and restorants nearby, and the beautiful beach is about 10 min walk. There is a natural shade on the beach. Muses is a good place to stay if you're looking for peace and rest.

We’ve just returned from a week-long stay at The Muses Hotel (travelling as a family of 3 – myself, my husband, and our 1-year-old daughter), and overall, we would definitely recommend it. I’ve written a detailed review to help others who are considering booking or have already booked.||Arrival & First Impressions |On arrival, we were warmly welcomed at reception by a lovely lady who gave us an immediate sense that this is a friendly, family-run hotel. The grounds are beautifully maintained and it’s clear the owner takes great pride in the place. She is often visible, hands on & always engaging with both staff and guests. You’ll see the same friendly faces serving breakfast in the morning, behind the bar later on, and helping out around the place. Some of the staff appear to be family members who live on site in a lovely little apartment by reception. ||Check-in Details|At check-in, we paid a standard tourist tax (€35 for the week). We also chose to rent the mini fridge, which was €3 per day - well worth it for storing baby milk and cold drinks. Air-conditioning was already available in our room, which was essential during this time of year due to the heat. There’s no ramp access to the reception area, so we had to lift the pram up a small flight of stairs (around five steps) each morning for breakfast - not a problem for us, but it may be a consideration for others.||Room (Room 149)|Our room was simple but clean, which was most important to us. Housekeeping visited daily and changed the bedding most days. A travel cot was provided for our daughter and was very comfortable, complete with a padded mattress, a little pillow, and bedding. There wasn't a safe in our room, but we didn't need it anyway. There were no complimentary toiletries or soap provided, and the shower was mounted at waist height, so we had to hold the showerhead manually. The bathroom was very small. It seemed that the rooms at the top of the hill were the only pram-accessible ones, the others appeared to have steps. While the room was a little old-fashioned, it met our needs. ||Breakfast|Breakfast was perhaps the weakest aspect for us, particularly if you're a fussy eater. The choice was limited but we managed to find something each morning. The offerings included Greek yogurt and honey, a small selection of cereals, crusty bread with spreads (jam, marmalade, chocolate spread, and Lurpak which was a winner for us!), pastries (chocolate, custard, or cheese), orange juice, coffee, and tea. There were also around three hot food options daily, though they were quite random (e.g. garlic bread and potatoes). We only saw baked beans once. Notably, there was no toaster or fruit - both of which we feel would have been simple additions that would make a big difference. We especially missed the toaster, as our little one would have happily eaten toast each morning. Breakfast finishes promptly at 10:00am, which we found a bit early, especially with a baby who tends to sleep late, meaning we had to wake her up each day.||Bar & Atmosphere|The bar area is a real highlight of the hotel, with a lovely atmosphere throughout the day and evening. It’s set beside the pool and was one of our favourite spots to be! The large Mythos beer (€5) served in an ice-cold glass was perfect, and the bar snacks were tasty, especially the club sandwich which was our favourite 👌🏽||Swimming Pool|The pool is small but well-maintained. Although there’s no separate children’s pool, the shallow end was fine for us with our baby (though the pool does become deep quite quickly). We usually headed down around 11–12 pm and were always able to find sunbeds, however usually at that time we were claiming the last ones near the pool/with umbrellas. There’s also a stack of spare sunbeds if needed, so no need to worry about sunbed wars!||Location |Koukounaries is a lovely, quiet little village with a chilled out vibe. There are about 10 restaurants nearby, all within walking distance, so you’ve got a good few options for tea out. There are also two supermarkets close by - one in each direction, but we preferred the one if you walk left out of the hotel (it had better stock and was a bit cheaper).||The beach is only a 5-minute walk from the hotel and it's beautiful - clear water, soft sand, and a really nice atmosphere. It does get busy, especially during the day with music playing from the beach bars, water sports, and a bit of a buzz going on. It still felt relaxed, just with a bit of energy.||In the evenings, we usually jumped on the bus into Skiathos Town (about 30 minutes) because we like a livelier vibe at night. We enjoyed strolling along the front, watching the planes come in/take off, and just soaking up the livelier vibe down by the harbour. There are loads of places to eat and drink, and it’s got a nice buzz but is very busy. If you’re more into quiet nights, Koukounaries is a lovely place to stay put - plenty of nice restaurants and a really chilled-out feel.||Overall Impression|We had a fantastic holiday and would highly recommend The Muses. The staff work incredibly hard to keep everything running smoothly, and the atmosphere is great. Everyone (staff & guests) are so friendly. There was a really laid-back, trustworthy feel to the whole place. With a little one, we were constantly leaving things around… sunglasses, trainers, her swim float, her little bag—you name it. Everything was always right where we left it, even sometimes the next day. It felt very safe. If you're looking for a peaceful, family-friendly place to stay in Skiathos, this hotel is a...

Good location, set in lemon grove. This is a very basic Greek family run hotel. Not five star , more like two Very clean , but old. But fine, you get what you pay for. We had a twin room. Larger room. Clean and tidy. Friendly cleaner. You have pay extra for air con and fridge, which you need. Room had wardrobe with lots of hangers! And dressing table. Firm beds. Clean sheets and towels , changed on day 4. Room cleaned daily. Room was up a slope, then up some steps about 20 to our room.( wish I’d taken less luggage) Had a large balcony with a clothesline/airer handy for towels . And patio set. Mainly in the shade which was fine for us nice to sit out there and watch the swifts or swallows in the evenings. The bathroom was fairly big ,they had to go trying to be modern but it did leak all over the floor. (Nice shower.) but the water was cool in the mornings!!|Swimming pool , looked nice, didn’t try as ,as usual, people doing the towel thing early in the mornings I hate that! Pool area for sun beds small. We preferred going to the beaches anyway.|Breakfast at the hotel was Greek. That was ok. ( don’t expect full English) or toast. Greek yogurt and honey, tinned peaches. Bead ham cheese. Different egg everyday! Pastries. And cereals bit like cardboard , so if that’s what you like, take your own.! | Coffee and tea ( took own decaf ) cups very small. , could do with bigger cups or mugs, I see someone had brought their own mug and teapot! |Enjoyed watching the birds that were nesting at the hotel Swift or swallows or housemartins felt like being on Springwatch! ||15 minute walk to lovely sandy beach, plenty of sunbeds with shades. ( 20 euros ) or 30 euros further along beach) had nice beach bar , water taxi into main port/town (7€) each way. We would bus ( 3€) there and boat back. |quite a few restaurants/Tavernas near hotel for evening meals, enough for a different one each night ( stayed a week) at least. Hotel restaurant was good had lovely meal there. Supermarket one each way, used every day for fruit /water /beer etc. |bus service was good, plenty of buses , seamed to go early, quickly take your seat ! As bus goes before you sit down ! |Seams to have lots of old regulars at hotel. There were, younger people too! |Not too bad. Enjoyed...

Don’t go here. Seriously. You can find a better place for the same price. ||Breakfast – I’m pretty sure better food is served in prison.||Room – Smelly, outdated, and full of broken things. I don’t mind old furniture, but there’s a point where some items just need replacing. The balcony was tiny, with a nasty chair set. They brought us a towel rack only after we asked, but it was placed inside the balcony with no sun or wind, so nothing dried.||Cleaning – Very questionable. Sheets and towels changed only once during our week long stay. I can live with the sheets, but not changing towels at least every two days is unhygienic. We also had two glasses that were never washed.||Bathroom – Cramped to the point where you have to sit sideways because there’s no room for your legs. The sink and mirror were broken. When we arrived, there was no shower curtain, they brought one later. Smelly, and in desperate need of a deep clean.||Amenities – No soap. We arrived in the late afternoon with nothing to wash our hands with. No shower gel or shampoo, no kettle. They charge extra for the mini fridge and air conditioning, so basically you pay extra for everything except the lights and toilet paper. Internet works only on the balcony, not in the room.||The best thing here is the location. It’s close to the beach and bus stop. The pool seems nice, but I didn’t travel to Skiathos to swim in a...
