Kioupi — Restaurant in Skiathos Municipality

If you only have time to visit one restaurant in Skiathos - definitely choose this one! A bit further away from the crowds of Skiathos town, right on bus stop 13, you'll find this absolute gem! If you're coming by car, there's plenty of parking spots, too. The food is sensational, exquisite, amazing - there's not enough words to describe it. Make sure to order the home baked bread, along with some taramosalata, for a great start of your meal. All the main courses are delicious - we were a group of 5 and tried different things and they were all perfectly cooked, we left no crumbs. I'm not usually the type to eat desserts, but the orange pie came highly recommended and it was absolutely worth it. I think it's a must, as your server will also probably tell you - trust them and order it, you'll be happy you did. If you are looking for high standard honest traditional greek food, this is the place! No fine dining, but the quality and taste of the food is equal to the fine dining restaurants. Every one component of the plate was flavoured and has its role in the food. I was reaaly speechless. Portions are big enough. We finished totaaly full after this. Guys in the service are really gentle professionals, by our table was George who was absolutly great! They speak very well english, so you dont need to be afraid to ask about food. Prices are fair enough for the quality what they offer. We had bread, 2 starters, 1 salad, 2 main courses, 1 dessert (orange pie with Ice cream - you need to try this!), few glasses of the wine and we paid 115€. My wife and I thought nothing would ever come close to Johnny’s on Skiathos BUT this is really damn close, if not maybe better.

Across seven or so trips to Skiathos, this was one of the best meals we’ve ever had.

Firstly, THE BREAD. The bread. Just so good. Home baked and it shows. Pound for pound the best value thing you will buy on the island at two euros.

For mains, my wife had the meatballs and I had the lamb and roast potatoes. Really tasty and succulent lamb with plentiful portions.

And then the highlight of a really high standard meal - the orange pie. I’m not sure what they put in the ice cream but wtf it’s just so good. And the consistency/taste of the pie was probably the best dessert I’ve eaten anywhere?

So good that we only have two days left of hols and are 100% coming back. You won’t find anywhere much better than this (other than maybe Johnnys). 10/10.
