After reading so many conflicting statements about this place, I felt that by now, the "boss" almost got lifted to the level of some sort of local attraction to witness. And since my family and I stayed for 1 week very near to the Beach House, we decided to go and have a look by ourselves. Here are my detailed experiences: The place is clean, nicely organized, well-situated, lots of shadow and certainly, with a lot of charm. The personnel is very kind, helpful, professional. We were with our 4 years old son and they took great care that he had a nice child seat and non-spicy, child-friendly food...ah yes, the food...Well the food is one of the best I had on Skiathos, especially if we consider where the restaurant is situated. It is not a main city-center restaurant, it is a hidden gem at a small, relatively quiet beach. And I can tell you now with absolute certainty, that the kitchen is well-equipped with high-level of expertise, dedication and love, which is in my opinion reaches the level of hyped big city restaurants. It is almost, like an anomaly, like as if someone wanted to copy-paste a restaurant from a European capital to another one, except that the "paste" went to an unexpected location. How can you make that salad so wonderfully crispy, tasteful and at the same time looking like a sculpture? How can you make that soft chicken breast so well-seasoned with the side dish professionally laid next to it? And the Semi-Freddo ice cream...take my money for eternity please! And now...please let me comment on the anomaly of extremely conflicting reviews you read here: I am from Hungary, representing European values. I lived in multiple western European countries and I do live in one right now. I had been visiting many countries, cultures, and I visited Greece multiple times during the last 20 years. Therefore, I believe, I know what is going on here. Apologies for the following statements that might look like I generalize people, this is merely a subjective observation and a narrative which I genuinely hope will help many who would feel confused by reading the past reviews: Greek people in general are considered proud, harsh or unfriendly by many. This is the combination of 2 things: First, the generic "mediterranian" communcation might look harsh or unfriendly in general even if it is not intended to be so. Second, just because 80% of the population lives from tourism, it does not mean that 80% is compatible to patiently deal with so many tourists coming from different places, having so different expectations. Over the years, I had several encounters that I rendered totally unacceptable in Greece. Still, I understood that if I go to Greece, I do not go there to make friendships, but to enjoy the seaside, the food and the overall vibe - and yes, that means, I just live in peace with myself if I accept that I might have unplesant encounters with the locals. Still, during our multiple visits in the Beach House, I encountered nothing bad. The "boss" in fact was sitting with his entourage right next to us and I was eagerly waiting that he does something, except that he did nothing wrong.
My advice: If you want to eat really good food, ignore the negative comments and just go to Beach House. And you, Mr. Mathinos, keep up the quality and dedication you put into this place!
Update: The majority of the 1-star reviews seems to be Greek which implies a local targeted attack against the place. I deleted my statement which assumed that negative reviews are due to "aristocratic GB people's high expectations". While I still share this view in general, this does not appear to be...

From the moment you arrive, you're captivated by the stunning beachfront location – the gentle lapping of waves, the soft sand underfoot, and the breathtaking views create an idyllic backdrop that truly sets the scene for a memorable meal. The food here is nothing short of spectacular. Specializing in fresh, local ingredients, every dish bursts with flavour. The seafood is, predictably, a standout – incredibly fresh, expertly prepared, and cooked to perfection. Their grilled octopus was tender and smoky, and the catch of the day (whatever it was!) was always flaky and delicious. Beyond seafood, their Greek specialties are also fantastic, with a homemade touch that makes them feel authentic and comforting. What truly elevates Beach House, however, is the atmosphere and service. The staff are wonderfully warm, welcoming, and attentive without being overbearing. They're happy to recommend dishes and ensure you have everything you need. Dining here feels incredibly relaxed and unhurried, allowing you to truly soak in the beautiful surroundings and enjoy the company. Whether you're there for a leisurely lunch or a romantic dinner under the stars, the ambiance is simply perfect. If you're in Skiathos and looking for an unforgettable dining experience that combines exceptional food, unparalleled views, and genuine Greek hospitality, you absolutely must visit Beach House Restaurant in Kolios. It's a true 5-star gem that will leave you dreaming of...
Read moreI would highly recommend The Beach House! My family and I had the pleasure of being there for an intimate wedding on Sunday evening. Diamantis and Claire made the experience really special for my Dad and his wife, who got married on Kolios beach before a three course dinner and dancing at The Beach House with live music throughout the evening. Nothing was too much trouble for the lovely team of staff, we were really well cared for and had so much fun. It was a stunning setting, with a blissful view across Kolios beach and the bay, and a really clean, well-cared-for venue. The food was amazing! Couldn't fault it, the chef team at The Beach House is so talented. Everything was fresh, perfectly cooked - I think I heard every guest talk about how great the food was! My partner and I visited The Beach House a few times in the week before the wedding to have a look at the venue. We had lunch there a couple of times, and spent one brilliant day hiring their sun loungers for a day on the beach. Every time we visited The Beach House their service, food and atmosphere was consistently brilliant, first class. The team went out of their way to make the wedding really special, and I don't think the bride and groom could have picked a better venue for their event. Thanks so much to the whole team - I'll definitely be recommending you to friends and family, and I'm sure we'll be back...
