Porto Paradiso — Restaurant in Skiathos Municipality

Fantastic standard of food and lovely bar/restaurant. However, customer service terrible! I sat in bar area ordered a drink, asked to look at food menu and if the menu was for both the bar and restaurant, told yes. I was drinking my drink, ordered my food asked if I could eat this in the dining area, told yes and moved to table as instructed.. Once seated another waiter the manager I think, came over I told him that I had ordered my food his response ‘yes I know’ I then I asked if I could order a glass of wine to go with my meal. His facial expression changed to that of annoyance! So I asked him if there was a problem? he said no! My meal and wine came (lovely food)started to eat it, after two mouthfuls the original waiter came over asking for payment!! I had to stop eating look for my purse in my bag and pay!! He charged me for my original drink and meal, I told him that I also owed for a glass of wine which he added to bill (no thanks for my honesty!) I was made to feel very uncomfortable and untrustworthy paying for my food and drink in advance and I said to the young waiter I thought you paid for your food at the end of a meal! he apologised saying that I had moved table (he had told me that I could) l said it was not his fault, (obviously the manager had instructed him to do this).However, I wish to point out that I was a woman on my own made to feel extremely uncomfortable and wrongly judged. So although your food is extremely good the customer service/experience needs to be so so much better!!! I would have given you 5 stars but because you treated me this way I have scored 2, I wanted to score zero but that would have been unfair! Please Do not tell someone they can move table if this is not the case and never ever treat me like I am someone who might not pay their bill, that is unacceptable and how you made me feel! Visited the beach bar. The atmosphere and the scene is majestic, crystal clear waters, the pine forest meeting the golden sand. Calm, serene and relaxing atmosphere, warm waters, clean beach and very well decorated, the beach bar is clean and super nice with a good clean toilet. The staff needs to be more present and attentive. They need to make more frequent rounds and pay attention to customers, and it takes some time to get one waiter to order. We arrived around 11:00 and a lot of the sunbeds were "reserved". The entire 1st row especially, however they accommodated us in middle section which also were marked "reserved". When I asked how can I make a reservation, I was informed they are fully booked for the next days. I asked for an email or phone, but I got the same answer, but they informed me that if I come early, for sure they will be able to accommodate me. I asked around what time would be good, and they told me 10:00-11:00. I argued that this is the time we arrived and all sunbeds at the front row were reserved, and that they accommodated us also in "reserved" sunbeds, and the staff told me that they have some fake-reserved ones. So long story short, if they like you, you get good sunbeds, if they don't, off you go to the back at the pillows and puff. All in all, the place gets a 3 star, because even though the landscape is breathtaking and definitely worth visiting, the service and staff are severely lacking. For 2 coffees, 3 beers 1 orange juice and the sunbeds we paid 70 euro as a couple, which i consider expensive. Sunbeds alone are 30 euro with no food or drink included. Nice bar with shaded areas, good music and crystal-clear water. Unfortunately, we didn’t get the chance to fully enjoy these because of the service on the beach. Even though the guy managing the sunbeds was very kind and managed to find us two puffs, and the bar staff were nice with a good vibe, the beach service was practically nonexistent—at least for us. We approached the beach waiter four times to order drinks and food, and each time we were told to wait in a completely “fed up” mood. After about 40 minutes we gave up. During this time, he only carried a single drink to other customer, so it was clearly not overcrowded.The short blonde guy completely ignored us and even became aggressive when my husband asked why he was behaving this way, which was very disappointing and totally opposite to the Greek hospitality we’re used to.
