If I could rate them with 0, I would.
First of all they had placed signs on the path to the beach showing that road to the beach is in their direction (right) while there is another much better road (left) to get to the beach and it does not require you to go throught their restaurant!
Never go on the right path, and never follow the signs "WAY TO THE BEACH -" because you will be scamed by this 'restaurant'.
After we not knowingly followed this signes, we were forced to go through their tavern, where a man was standing smiling and said, "go to the white sunbeds, they are free", we were confused that sunbeds could be free, however we had to pass there to go to the beach. Down that stairy path, another man was waiting, who doesnt speak english good, at all, and promped us to the white sunbeds and said, "Take these sunbeds, they are free." We sat on the sunbeds, and then he said that we needed to pay 40 eur per set and that it is consuption based. We were like - didn't you say it's free - but we were so caught up and accepted.
He requested payment upfront, which was a red flag because if it was per consumption, we would have paid at the end like everywhere else.
He then made us write our names in his notes, and he then drew some circles that were supposed to represent the sunbeds and umbrella. After paying, we went to the water, and when we came back, we wanted to order drinks. The guy said we gotta go to tavern and serve ourselves.
We became super suspicious of the whole sequence of events and checked the google map reviews, and then everything was clear to us, but it was too late to leave, so we had to stay.
Thanks to the google reviews, we knew that for lunch, we shouldn't choose fish as they would overcharge us. So when we climbed to the tavern to eat, the guy came and immediately suggested "today"s special - fresh fish, cleared of bones with salads and fries" the guy was happy while he was saying this, we just looked and eachother and ordered chicken instead. The guy was so angry afterwards, his look changed completely.
The whole atmosfere was super scatchy, and we didn't feel comfortable at all. We literally couldn't wait to leave this place and never come back. They are a bunch of scamers and ruined the complete picture of greek people to us.
Food is too expensive as well for such small portions, not worth a single penny.
Parasol/umbrella and sunbeds were old, not comfortable, destroyed, and fixed with thousand tapes. There is no even a table between sunbeds, just an old crate with a bunch of rocks on it. There is no even a place for drinks or bag there.
Please avoid this place at all costs, do not follow the signs, go...
Read moreEverything starts with the ever so catchy phrase: “free sunbeds for our customers” and a repeatedly used emotionless waterfall of dishes they offer when you are passing through to enter the beach area.
Turns out free translates to 50€ minimum consumption and adding to that the sunbeds are a nightmare for people with a remaining wish for privacy, ours had a distance of less than 7 cm to the next victims of this place (no beds next in the remaining area though)
If you’ve made the mistake to fall victim to this scam you will want to use your funds and eventually visit the tavern for food and drinks. Except for the guy making the orange juice people won’t give a thing if you are sitting there or not if it’s not rush hour so make yourself heard if u want something. Food is mediocre at best and served with an attitude that makes you want to leave right then and there.
Be wary of the fresh fish plate ( read the other reviews ) they try to offer you, you will be scammed beyond imagination so just accept your losses and go with food within the 50€ price range and then leave this place for good.
Greetings to the young lady who showed absolutely no interest in customers and their well-being, after money was made customers are just annoyances it seems. The only somewhat decent person seemed to be the guy making fresh orange juice, I’d highly encourage you look for a place with a higher reputation, seems you like what you are doing.
Stay away from this place and enjoy the beautiful...
Read moreThis is the worst tavern we have been to. Be careful when you head towards Aliki beach, you will come across a sign "Way to the beach". Don't go that way, because that way leads to a tavern and they won't let you go down to the beach unless you order something from them. Just keep going straight. Since we were hungry, we ordered gyros, squid. Gyros comes as a portion, without tzatziki salad (it is offered separately). They bring you bread and water without your ordering. They mostly offer fresh fish that was caught "this morning" and they don't tell you the price for that fish, they say, "you order, we'll tell you the price at the end". Do not order that, otherwise you will pay who knows how much for the meal. Unfortunately, if we had seen the reviews before we ordered, we would have walked out immediately. Honestly, the place could be top notch and always full of guests because it's in an exceptional place, with a top view, but it's obviously enough for the owners to cheat a couple of guests. In any case, do...
